Lucien took a step back without thinking about it. How could Blaise leave him alone with a full vampire like this? Lucien had not even armed himself.
"I must admit, I'm surprised Blaise confided in you about our true nature," Raphael remarked, smiling at Lucien.
Lucien shrugged, guarding his expression. "It was an accident, really," he replied, choosing his words carefully. "Blaise had the courage to be honest with me when I stumbled upon the truth."
Raphael's eyebrow arched in intrigue. "And what do you think of it?" he inquired, his eyes studying Lucien intently.
Lucien hesitated for a moment, grappling with his thoughts. "At first, I couldn't believe it," he confessed. "But then, as I observed Blaise, I saw that he wasn't the violent creature I had imagined. He seemed burdened by his transformation, almost regretful. Now I feel bad for him."
