Mirabel wondered what Ashley was doing there because she had failed to recognize the influencer outside of her glamorous outlook. She had indeed seen her in the pictures from earlier, but then she was not as haggard and different as she looked standing in front of her in her angry stance.

Ashley was in ordinary-looking clothes and an apron. Her long, thick hair had been cut short, and she looked dishevelled and tired. It was her voice that had made Mirabel make the connection to her former self.

Even though that brown envelope that had brought them there contained information about Ashley, Mirabel had been too emotionally drawn to the fact that Maxi was found and did not pay attention to anything from that.
