"You know I don't like liars."
"I didn't lie."
"..."
"It's not something you have to know. Just know you're not dead." Eric's stern face made me sigh in exasperation. This man was so stubborn. He would never reveal any secrets he knew.
And that made me so fed up—so fed up that I did not want to talk to him.
"You can go back to rest. If anything bad happens, I'll call you." I turned away. We were all exhausted by what we had experienced today enough, and I wanted to sleep alone. I did not want anyone here, especially the secretive ex-boyfriend. Eric went silent for a moment. I knew he still did not want to leave. "Don't worry. I will lie still until morning, and I won't go into the water or anything."
"I'm afraid you’ll be hurt by the wound. You're careless."
"I'm not a kid, Eric. I'm twenty-three, in case you forgot."
"You still act exactly like a child. How can I trust you?"
"Should I do this so you can trust me?"
