Vito is in Trouble

Cyrus was excited, as he ran past the trees, his heart was beating faster than ever, but it was not because he was tired, it was because it had been so long since he last went on a solo mission to discover something new.

Cyrus had a history of going undercover to gather info, he would sneak into facilities, act innocent and clueless at times, and find out as much as he could about his targets.

He did this because he wanted revenge against the person who orchestrated the hit on his father. He felt like he needed to hone these skills if he was to ever truly figure out the person that was responsible for it.

He was dead set on achieving this goal of his in the past and spent 7 years working on it, but he never got any closer than a certain point because there were forces stronger and more influential than the police force he worked with.

In the end, his adoptive mother and the chief in charge at the time had to pull him out of the job completely because she was worried that he would destroy himself had he kept going.

He was reluctant, but she found a way to get through to him and in the end, he agreed not to go on another suicide attempt trying to learn about the Lanza Family.

But just because he agreed not to go off on his own for that specific mission, didn't mean he agreed to stop snooping around in places he shouldn't and learn every piece of information he found would think valuable.

After so long of being inactive he was glad he could finally do something like this again because he knew that his mother would never allow him to work with the police force ever again. She was dead set on that ideal.

Following the tracks leading to an area scarcely filled with trees, Cyrus had found himself by a road that stretched for miles on end on both sides of it. But the tracks didn't end there, they went down the road further into a terrain that he couldn't see well from where he was because there was a hill blocking his view.

The only silver lining to knowing that he had to cross the road was the fact that there was some tall dry grass on the other side of it. He didn't want to be spotted so he would have to make his way quickly towards it.

Dashing through the road, Cyrus made a small sprint as he rolled into the grass and kept his body structure as small as possible for the entire sequence. He traversed around the hill, following the path to a sight that quite he didn't expect to see out near a forest.

Cyrus's glasses dropped a little lower down his eyes as he saw that there was an old abandoned factory hidden behind the hill. It had two floors to it from what he could see but it wasn't that impressive.

It was as though it was left unfinished from whatever it was meant to be used for.

Cyrus knew that the footprints he had followed only belonged to two people, but he didn't let his guard down on the off chance that there may be more on the lookout.

He scanned the area as well as he could and after seeing no movement for some time, he went towards the building.

There were old and rusted tanks lying outside the place. Using those as cover, he made his way up some stairs that would give him access to the second floor. From what he knew, he would be able to see everything on the first floor from the second as the wouldn't be much of a roof built to separate them with how old it looked.

He had wished he carried his tools to pick the lock in front of him when he discovered that he couldn't open it. He didn't bring much with him because he didn't expect to go on an actual mission while on a mission. He only had a rock in his pocket that he picked off the ground.

Something about having to tame animals made him lose hope that they would be doing anything serious in the beginning but now he regretted thinking like that.

As he felt the rust on the door he realized that perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that he couldn't open the door. He was too excited and forgot to consider the noise it would make if he attempted to open it.

He took a deep breath then focused his eyes around the top of the building and looked for another way that he could go in from. Luckily there were a lot of broken windows just slightly above where he was standing. All he would need to do was climb.

"This climb seems small and less dangerous compared to what I am used to. Though the pipes are rusted and could easily cause me to fall if I am not careful. Looks like I will have to take off my glasses here, they might cause me some trouble climbing if they were to fall."

"It's a good thing they are fakes anyway," he said as he placed the glasses into his back pocket.

"Let's see what this power can do," Cyrus said as he tried to focus on the sensation he would feel when feeling and exerting supernatural traits. He closed his eyes and clenched his fist and when he placed them on the wall he could tell that his grip had significantly improved.

"Perfect," he said as he climbed up the wall and grabbed one pipe after the other. He reached the window without an issue and looked inside as he made sure it was safe. He then jumped down and hid behind some empty oil containers inside.

He could see and hear the grunts of two people down on the first floor and now all he had to do was get closer to them to make out what they were saying. Luckily there were tons of places he could hide around all over the place.

He finally reached an optimal distance and this was what he noticed. "Two individuals, one girl, short around 5'5, wearing a smart shirt with the ends knotted together to show her belly more, she has ripped jeans high up around her upper thighs, her shirt is somewhat opened around the chest despite having nothing much to show there, her hair is long braided twin tails."

"The guy, tall beefy, and hunky, stronger than an average male by far, is wearing a large red vest and ripped jeans that fall to his upper knees. And he has a hat."

The guy and girl were moving around and placing containers in order in the factory. To be specific, the guy was placing the containers while the girl told him where to put them.

"Now hurry up now, lil brother. We gotta finish before sundown. Y'know I don't much care for workin' in the nighttime," she declared in an assertive tone.

"Well, maybe Ah'd move faster if y'all decided to lend a hand instead of sittin' 'round and watchin'," the guy argued.

"Well, bless your heart! I reckon I'm just doing my part to make this work look mighty fine if I do say so myself," she responded as she patted herself down while watching.

"And why is we's out yonder again? What's the point of yanking this stuff all the way out here!?" The guy asked the girl.

"You done forgot why we's out here haulin' this load fer so dang long. Can't say I blame ya none, working so hard can sure make a body forget," the girl answered placing her hands on her hips.

"We's out her'e coz that one niffty lookin' fella is payin' us something hefty to make sure we's burn that forest down. Why you think we's neds that oil you carryin' anyways?" she said as she patted on the last container placed down in the room.

"And I'd reckon we've got just about all we need. Should be fixin' to wrap things up real nice and tidy-like."

There were now a total of 3 large containers with oil in the room.

Cyrus had heard enough, he didn't need to stick around any longer and would head out to tell Minty about this after finding Vito. This was something that he knew that even she would have to intervene in.

The most surprising thing he found out was that these people were faking southern accents despite them being in Australia. Part of him wanted to observe them for a little while longer but he needed to find Vito.

He didn't want to spend too long in uncharted territory either, so he got up and was ready to leave but just then they started talking about something else.

The guy was looking around a little before asking, "Well, I declare, where in tarnation is ol' Boone fixin' to be at? Ain't seen hide nor hair of him 'round these parts."

The girl turned to him and let out a small *hmm?* before realizing what he said and answering him, "Well, I'll be hornswoggled! Boone done gone off huntin' again, reckon he caught wind of some critter tracks out yonder. Seems peculiar though, ain't supposed to be no wild varmints this far out."

"But bless his heart, Boone's always up for a good chase. Took his trusty ol' crowbar and gun, reckon he's aimin' to bag himself a mighty fine trophy. Just hope he don't stir up no trouble 'fore he's back."

Hearing this, Cyrus who had been calm and collected tensed his body a little as he was shaken. He normally would react like this but he just heard that one out of the three people that had come to cause trouble in these woods was hunting down Vito and that Vito had no idea of what was happening.

Cyrus was stressed and felt some sweat drop-down, he needed to get out of there now! He needed to catch up and help Vito before some psychopath tried to have his way with him.

He didn't wait for them to leave or quietly and slowly take his time looking for an exit. He grabbed the rock he had in his pocket and threw it at a wall causing it to pounce and hit an empty container.

It hit and made a loud sound causing the girl to shriek in fear, "Well, gosh darn it all to heck, what in the cotton-pickin' world was that ruckus?"

Her brother or what Cyrus assumed was the guy next to her said, "Well, I reckon it was probably just the wind a-whippin' through, stirrin' up a fuss like a possum in a peach orchard. Ain't nothin' to get riled up about, just nature carryin' on its merry way."

She looked at him disappointed and said, "Well, now ain't that a head-scratcher! Wind in a factory? Come on then, let's mosey on over yonder and see what in tarnation's goin' on. Now I'll stick close to yah, while y'all take the lead."

She pushed him towards the side where the sound came from and the moment they were out of sight, Cyrus jumped down from the second floor and landed as quickly as he could. He then sprinted out as fast as possible following the trail so as to lead him towards Vito.

He was determined and didn't care if he would break his leg when he jumped, "It would heal anyways," he said.

The sound from his jumping was so loud and strong that some rocks that were on top of the broken ceiling fell through the cracks and broken windows and led the culprits with the oil to believe that perhaps the building they were in was just breaking down. That was what caused the commotion.

Around the hill, through the grass, past the road, and running faster than a normal human, Cyrus was on his way to Vito.
