Chapter 25: The Reveal

Tanjiro (in mind): Oh, what is that thing that, when I have more, we see only less? Come on, brain, think! Ok, so something should be there, and then we will see it less. How can someone see less? When it's dark, right? THAT'S IT! The more you have darkness, the less you see light! I just have to find the darkest room in this building.

I went outside and took a look at the building. There was only one dark room. It was at the very top. I had only 5 minutes left. I ran up with all my might, and finally, I was in front of the door to the darkest room. I didn't have time to waste. I barged in, and suddenly, the light went on.

I squinted my eyes, trying to adjust to the light. After I could see properly, I saw Sol tied to a chair while shedding tears. And behind her stood the man I never expected to be the one behind all this.

"What happened? Shocked is it?" said Mr. Karasuma Karasuma, our school security guard.

Tanjiro: Mr. Karasuma? But ho—you are Mitsuha's father?

Karasuma smiled and nodded.

Tanjiro: "But why? Sol and I didn't do anything to your daughter. Why would you?

But before I could complete my sentence, a tight punch landed on my face. My lower lip started bleeding. I tried to start another sentence, only to get hit yet again. He pulled out an axe and tried to stab it, but luckily it caught it at that very moment.

Twisting his arm, I managed to throw him on a glass table that was there, breaking it. He caught hold of my leg and pulled me down. Hovering on top of me, he tried to hit me with the axe once again, but I caught his right when the axe was a few centimeters away from my face.

Pushing him away and hovering on top of him, I punch his face multiple times, and he starts to spit blood. But right then, he punches hard on my stomach, making me cough out blood as well. That punch made me so weak that I could barely move. Karasuma took hold of the axe once again and was about to hit me when...

Sol: STOOOOOP!!!

Karasuma turned her She started crying and begging him.

Sol: "Please don't hurt him." I beg you, please.

Karasuma looked at her. I don't know why, but his eyes suddenly softened for some reason. He suddenly dropped his axe and went up to her.

Karasuma: Don't cry, my dear, Appa –

Sol: You are not my father! YOU –

Karasuma: "How dare you raise your voice!" You're doing it for him, aren't you? So if he wasn't there,

Karasuma takes a knife out of his pocket and stabs me in the stomach. A painful scream escaped my mouth.
