She pushed him away. "Xianwu, no more teasing," she cautioned, observing his amused smile directed at her. 

"What did I do?" Xianwu acted innocent, keeping the smirk on his lips.

 "Act like a noble man not an immoral one," she scolded him. 

"I believe in acting immorally around you," Xianwu remarked.  

Jia Li shot a glance at him. 

"Don't look at me with that gaze. It gives me an invitation to do more with you," Xianwu said.

Jia Li smiled when Mingxia asked her about Jin Fengming. "My daughter never spent time with any man around her before," she remarked and gestured to the maidservant to brew the tea. 


"Mother, I only wanted to know Jin Fengming better. There was no intention to spend significant time with him," Jia Li explained.


"So, did the Crown Princess like Jin Fengming's personality? Your father and I already like him. We see him as your potential future husband," Mingxia stated with a bright smile across her lips. 


Court Lady Xuan gazed at Jia Li, pondering what made her take so long to reply. 


"I need to think, Mother, before giving my final answer. I met many men till now through the proposals and the most descent one is Jin Fengming," Jia Li truthfully answered.
