"Hey, you good?" Markus asks me with worry in his eyes.

After Gabriel left, I have been unable to do anything.

I shrug as I completely stand up from the bed. Markus insisted on staying with me tonight even though I assured him I was okay but he has been feeling like something will go wrong with whatever Nathanial wants from Gabriel and me.

"I felt a wave of sadness," I breathe out, unsure of what I am even saying.
