Chapter 8: You Will Be a Princess

Boris's head appeared upside down outside the window as the strong wind howled, causing his golden short hair to sway with the wind. His handsome face could even captivate one's heart when seen in reverse.

Emily patted her chest, still somewhat shaken. Boris had already climbed into the passenger seat from the other side of the car.

"Aren't you afraid of being discovered?" Emily asked irritably.

"What's there to be afraid of? We, the Lesenba tribe, are not like those old relics from the secret party, timid and fearful! If we're discovered, we'll just devour them. Besides, I haven't had my meal today!" Boris smirked, patting his stomach before folding his hands behind his head, leaning back on the seat, feeling content.

"Then go have your meal! Why bother coming here?" Emily said impatiently.

"To prevent that old fellow, Lunn, from showing up here and having dinner just like me!" Boris laughed, paying no attention to Emily's impatience.

By now, Emily finally understood. It was as if she were a once-in-a-century rare mountain ginseng that everyone wanted to fight over. She mourned silently in her heart. Was her destiny destined to be someone's dinner?

"Lunn is an old immortal. How much younger can you get?" Emily's tone became more impatient, mixed with anger and helplessness.

"Maybe... perhaps..." Boris really started to ponder this question seriously. Emily glanced back at him, his expression somewhat naive, not at all like a monster who had lived for thousands of years. Boris continued, "Perhaps a few decades younger than him!"

Emily almost burst out laughing. For creatures like them who had lived for thousands of years, a few decades was nothing more than a matter of minutes. "How old are you this year?"

"I don't remember!" Boris replied firmly this time. Indeed, he had no recollection. After living for such a long time, who would bother to keep track of the years?

The two of them were chatting when they saw a bright yellow sports car speeding past. Emily suddenly realized that the speed had unknowingly dropped to 170. Frustrated, she shouted, "Don't talk to me!" and stepped on the accelerator, causing the car to speed up again. It was worth over a hundred thousand! Don't let it go to waste!

Even if this immortal really wanted to devour her, at least she could leave behind an inheritance for her mother.

Boris obediently closed his mouth, but his smirk showed that he was enjoying the spectacle.

Emily realized that catching up was proving difficult. The yellow sports car seemed to be filled with energy like a bumblebee, disappearing within seconds. This had never happened before. She suddenly turned to Boris and said, "It must be you!"

Boris grinned unapologetically, neither confirming nor denying, as he looked at the empty road ahead without a trace of another car. He was even more pleased. This girl had truly chosen to stay with him today!

Emily felt distressed. She was about to become someone's dinner, and she couldn't even collect a payment. But who could blame the other party for being so powerful? A thousands-of-years-old monster was something she couldn't resist. Perhaps if she lowered her head and complied, she could gain some benefits!

At the finish line, Emily's car arrived second. The onlookers were stunned and felt a pang of regret. The champion emerged from the car, seemingly unaware of what had happened. Upon hearing that she had won, she jumped with joy, as if she had won an Olympic gold medal. Finally, she had risen above the dominance of Emily. But she had no recollection of when she overtook and how she came back.

Disheartened, Emily stepped out of the car and sighed as she looked at the stack of money. Boris had jumped out of the car just before reaching the finish line and had silently appeared in front of everyone again. He embraced Emily's waist and said, "Well, today, you'll be coming with me!"

Benjamin watched from the sidelines, daring not to speak his mind, filled with anger and frustration.

Emily obediently lowered her head and allowed herself to be led to a black sports car by Boris. Just as she was about to get in, Olivia rushed over in a swift stride and blocked Emily, saying, "Emily! You can't go with him!"

Emily looked at Olivia in surprise. There was a sense of urgency and anger in Olivia's eyes, and her gaze towards Boris seemed to hold a hint of hostility. It was Emily's first time seeing him, so why would there be hostility?

Boris also returned Olivia's unfriendly gaze, wrinkling his nose as if he didn't like her scent. Indeed, vampires had a keen sense of smell, and it was normal not to like Olivia's strong perfume. However, Emily felt that there was something else brewing between the two of them, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

"I'm sorry, she lost to me fair and square," Boris said with a smirk, looking at Olivia. His smile seemed to hide a hidden blade, and with a firm grip, he pushed Emily into the car. He commanded Benjamin, who was behind Olivia, saying, "You can go back by yourself!" It sounded like an order.

Olivia still wanted to intervene, but Boris suddenly gave her a fierce glare. Before she could react, the car had already driven far away.

Frustrated, Olivia stomped her foot and was about to get into her car to chase after them when Benjamin suddenly appeared in the car. He placed a hand on the steering wheel and looked ahead in the direction where Boris's car disappeared. His voice devoid of warmth, he said, "There's no need to chase. You won't catch up."

"Where are you taking Emily?" Olivia angrily pushed Benjamin's hand away and tried to start the car.

Benjamin directly pulled out the car keys and stared at her, asking, "Who are you?"

Olivia was momentarily stunned, staring at Benjamin's cunning gaze. She said, "I'm Olivia."

Benjamin knew he couldn't ask any further, and his gaze softened. "Don't worry, Emily will come back safely tomorrow. Fath... Boris just invited her as a guest."

Olivia wanted to continue questioning, but Benjamin had already gotten out of the car, and there was no sign of Boris on the road anymore. Olivia felt defeated, her brows furrowed. This Boris seemed difficult to deal with.

...

The castle was not as magnificent as Emily had imagined. It was located on a plain not far from Cyberville. When the car passed by, there was nothing to see at first, just an endless grassland. But as they got closer, the scenery suddenly changed. A dark gray castle seemed to appear out of nowhere, surrounded by gardens filled with poppy flowers, sprawling in large patches. The crimson flowers swayed under the moonlight, giving the impression of a group of drug dealers to anyone unaware.

A little further away were several small buildings, six or seven stories high, with about seven or eight of them. Their style was completely different from the castle. While the castle had a medieval architecture, the small buildings were modern, with white walls and blue rooftops, exuding a fresh and natural ambiance.

Emily noticed that yellow flowers surrounded the small buildings. The petals were white on the edges and yellow in the center. Though she had never seen them before, she knew they had the same scent as Benjamin. It seemed that these small buildings were meant for less experienced vampires, while only those at the poppy level were eligible to live in the castle.

Emily looked at the relatively small castle and realized that it couldn't accommodate a large number of people. It seemed that the Lesenbar family was no longer a prominent clan. The faint scent of blood roses drifted from the top floor of the castle, indicating that it was where Boris or other older vampires resided.

"This place is protected by enchantments. Ordinary people can't see it," Boris explained with a smile as he observed Emily's curious expressions. "The accommodations are assigned based on rank. Come with me."

Emily followed Boris into the castle. The first floor was a large hall, likely used for receiving guests or gatherings. The furnishings were simple yet luxurious.

Boris poured a glass of juice for Emily, surprising her that human beverages were available here.

"Um..." Despite being certain that he wouldn't immediately devour her, Emily couldn't help but feel some concern. She asked, "You don't plan to feed me until I'm full and then eat me, right?"

Boris chuckled lightly, his eyes filled with an intense amusement. He observed Emily, who possessed an unparalleled beauty and figure, akin to a sculpture. He joked, "Eat you? Which kind of 'eating' are you referring to?"

Emily's face immediately turned red as she realized the ambiguous nature of her words. This old man had lived for thousands of years and was still so mischievous!

"Don't worry, as I said, you will be the princess of Lesenbar," Boris continued.

"What princess?" Emily questioned in astonishment. She had thought Boris was simply giving a pretext to appease her. She believed these guys would eventually treat her as dinner! However, as he mentioned it once again, she began to contemplate the seriousness of his words.

Suddenly, a chilling aura emanated from the ground. As the air was filled with the fragrance of flowers, Emily couldn't discern its source. When she turned around, she met Alexander's icy gaze.

They had no grudges or conflicts, yet every time she saw him, he exuded a murderous intent!

"Father! Did you say princess?" Alexander ignored Emily and walked directly towards Boris. "Are you really going to make her a princess?"

Boris nodded and took out a cup from a cabinet, filling it with red liquid, savoring it slowly.

Emily caught the metallic scent and realized it came from the unfortunate person's blood, leaving her feeling uneasy. She turned her head away, refusing to look at it.

"That's not possible! The Lesenbar family's power has been weakening, and Gaia's actions have been increasingly frequent. How can you consider making this lowly human a princess?" Alexander questioned, unwilling to accept it.

"Hey! Who are you calling lowly?" Emily glared at him indignantly.

Alexander glanced at her with disdain, his eyes full of impatience, as if saying another word would demean his status.

"The reproductive capabilities of our clan have been diminishing, and the power of branch lineages is not insignificant. They are still a force to be reckoned with. Don't underestimate them," Boris explained, his tone lacking reproach. "Don't let Benjamin hear about this, so you two won't quarrel again!"

"He is not my brother!" Alexander retorted angrily.

"I don't want to be your brother either!" Benjamin suddenly appeared in the living room, expressing his anger.

Boris cast a stern gaze at both of them, silencing their argument. He then commanded, "Alexander, you leave first! We have a guest here!"

Alexander was dissatisfied, but no one dared to defy Boris's orders. He glared at Emily with resentment and left. The maliciousness in his eyes startled her, realizing he had intended to make her his dinner! No, that look suggested he wanted to tear her apart!

"Father, I heard you mention a princess just now?" Benjamin entered the room anxiously.

"I have made my decision, no need to discuss it further," Boris waved his hand, signaling that the topic was closed.

"Are you really going to promote me to a higher rank?" Emily asked excitedly.

"No," Boris took a sip of blood, his eyes gleaming. He looked at Emily and said, "I'm going to turn you into a vampire!"
