Emily forced herself to focus and swiftly teleported in front of the vampire closest to her, catching him off guard. Without giving him time to react, she executed a shoulder throw, sending him crashing into the bathtub.
The other vampires began to swarm towards her, and Emily became alert. Her scattered consciousness suddenly concentrated, and a sense of danger washed over her. If she were to be violated by these monsters, it would likely be a dead end. There were so many of them...
She didn't know any combat tactics; her only skill was relying on her brute strength to push the assailants away one by one. However, they seemed invincible, just like resilient pests. No matter how many times she pushed them away, they would keep rushing back. Judging from their eyes, they were no more sober than she was. It seemed they had also been drugged.
...
Hearing the sounds of a struggle upstairs, Benjamin abruptly stood up, ready to rush upstairs. However, Boris stopped him, wearing his usual calm and gentle expression. Despite the lack of words, it was an undeniable command. Benjamin stood in place, not daring to move, his ears attuned to the commotion above.
"Father, what is going on?" Benjamin asked anxiously.
"You don't need to worry, just stay put," Boris replied, lowering his arm. He listened to the sounds upstairs with relish, as if it were the most beautiful symphony he had heard in centuries.
"But, Father, you said you wanted Emily to be a princess. How could you..." Benjamin seemed to have realized what had happened, his anger brewing, but he didn't dare openly express it.
"She's just a mere human. How could she be qualified to be a princess?" Alexander suddenly descended from the staircase, appearing as if he had just woken up. His tone was full of mockery, yet his happiness couldn't be concealed. The sounds of the struggle upstairs seemed to be the most exquisite symphony he had heard in centuries.
"It's merely a trial. If she can pass it, then she will be qualified to be the princess of Les Ambers. If she fails, she might lose her life during the Initial Embrace. The outcome is the same," Boris said indifferently, as if he were speaking about something trivial and insignificant.
Indeed, expecting a creature that treats humans as food to care about a single human life was far-fetched.
Benjamin dared not speak any further, his fists clenched tightly. His heart was in turmoil as he struggled with whether it was worth defying his father's command for Emily. But when he recalled her laughter, her anger, and the ever-changing expressions on her face, his heart clenched with pain.
...
Emily felt her strength slowly draining away. Her eyelids grew heavier, while the vampires became increasingly frenzied. Some of them had even begun tearing off their own clothes. It seemed that the effects of the drug varied between the two species.
If this continued, she would be completely exhausted and at their mercy. If she died, so be it, but she couldn't die. What would happen to her mother if she died? Her mother was her only family, and she couldn't be so heartless!
An idea flashed in Emily's mind, and she recklessly rushed out of the bathroom into the bedroom. She grabbed a nearby flower vase and forcefully threw it at the window. The vase shattered with a loud crash, scattering shards onto the carpet, but the window remained tightly sealed.
During her previous visit, the window was actually more like an opening in the room, without glass. However, this time, possibly because it was daytime, it had been sealed shut. It appeared to
be some kind of mechanism because it resembled a solid wall. If she hadn't known about the opening from her previous visit, no one would have suspected the hidden secret...
Hearing the sound of the shattered vase from upstairs, Boris couldn't help but feel a pang of heartache. He murmured to himself, "My antique!"
Benjamin breathed a sigh of relief. The sounds of fighting indicated that Emily was still holding on. If he were to hear unbearable gasps, then everything would be over. It would mean she hadn't passed the trial. In that case, not only would she fail to become a princess, but she would also likely end up as dinner. Benjamin's heart clenched tightly as he watched every move above.
Alexander, on the other hand, sat on the sofa as steady as a rock, legs crossed, displaying elegant movements and a calm expression. He even secretly felt pleased.
...
Emily was also too anxious. She unexpectedly grabbed a vase and smashed it against the wall. The sound of the vase shattering brought her a moment of clarity, realizing that it was undoubtedly an ineffective action.
She tried to calm herself down, surveyed the room. On her previous visit, she was initially attracted by the blood roses, and then there was the turmoil brought by Alexander, so she didn't have a proper look at the room.
The room had a European layout, with all the furniture in a European style. There was a bed, a wardrobe, a floor lamp, and a desk. There were no tools to aid her in the fight.
Emily glanced at herself, wrapped in a towel. During the battle, she was afraid to make big movements and couldn't fully unleash her strength. She quickly walked to the wardrobe, opened it, and found various men's clothing, some even had a vintage feel, seemingly fulfilling Boris's needs from different eras.
But now there was no time to appreciate them. The vampires behind her were still pouncing at her like wolves. Emily randomly grabbed a large t-shirt and put it on. The shirt was oversized, reaching almost to her knees, perfectly covering all the vital areas.
Her consciousness was still scattered. Emily fiercely banged her head against the wall to regain some clarity. Blood trickled from her forehead, but now she couldn't afford to care about that. This method worked well. The sudden pain made her much more alert, as if her strength had also somewhat recovered.
The vampires rushed forward, tearing at her clothes. In her desperate state, Emily kicked one of the vampires in the groin, causing it to immediately fall to the ground, clutching its private area.
A faint smile appeared on Emily's lips. It seemed that regardless of whether they were humans or monsters, male physiological features were the same.
She was about to deliver a decisive blow to the others, but she realized that these cunning monsters, having witnessed their companion's misfortune, instinctively protected their lower regions, not allowing that area to be overly exposed to Emily.
Emily chuckled, wondering how these monsters could still think when they had been drugged!
Taking another look around the room, it felt like a trap tailor-made for her. The entire room was sealed, with the only exits being the door and the inconspicuous window. At first glance, breaking through the door seemed like a better option, but there might be more enemies outside. She was currently weak and disoriented, her sense of smell wasn't very sharp, and she couldn't detect any scents from outside the door.
Moreover, even if she managed to get out of the room, the other rooms had no windows. If she wanted to escape, she would have to pass through the living room, where Boris and the others were. Instead of dealing with the millennium-old monster, it would be better to find a way to break through the window in this room. Outside the window was freedom, of course, if her judgment was accurate. It was currently daytime outside.
It was a gamble, and Emily felt uncertain. The room had no clock, and she had no idea where her phone was. She couldn't tell the time and could only bet that it was daytime outside, which would give her a chance to escape.
She mustered all her strength and forcefully slammed one of the vampires charging towards her into the wall.
However, to her disappointment, there was no window as she had expected. The wall only had a hole from the impact.
Emily couldn't help but start to doubt whether this room belonged to Boris at all. Thinking of the identical rooms downstairs, just like a hotel, she began to feel a bit anxious. If this wasn't Boris's room, then she couldn't be certain if there was actually a window there.
Either way, even if there was no window, she would forcefully create one! Breaking through a window was better than breaking down the door!
Emily made up her mind and grabbed another vampire, smashing it forcefully in the same direction as before. But her previous attempt had already depleted her strength, and now she felt weak and feeble. The irritating heat added to her frustration, giving her an urge to tear off her own clothes.
The vampire merely grazed the wall with a gentle impact, lacking any real harm.
Emily felt a sense of despair. Her strength seemed to be fading away, and she wondered who could come and save her! This place was like a den of wolves, a tiger's den!
She dug her nails into her thigh, the pain helping to regain some clarity of mind. She forcefully kicked away a vampire, sending it flying and knocking down several others like bowling pins.
Emily bit her lip hard. This couldn't go on; it would never end. Did she really have to kill them to survive?
It's either you or me!
With a firm step on the ground, Emily leaped up, straddling one vampire's shoulder. She tightly wrapped her hands around its head and twisted with all her might, ripping the vampire's head off. Blood gushed out, and the body collapsed, swaying. Emily fell to the ground, coincidentally landing on the shards of the broken vase, causing a sharp pain to course through her body.
The fragments of the vase had cut numerous wounds on her skin, and blood flowed, mixing with the blood of the vampire she just killed. Emily stared at herself, covered in blood, feeling like a bloodthirsty demon.
The sight of this gushing blood excited something within Emily, and her scattered consciousness gradually focused. A wicked smile crept upon her lips. Instead of escaping, she now wanted to twist the heads off the vampires in front of her.
Suddenly, Emily's face froze. She was terrified by her own thoughts. How could she have such horrifying ideas? But the exhilaration within her body was uncontrollable.
She grabbed the largest shard she could find and held it tightly, using it as a weapon. She swiftly rushed forward, performing a beautiful spin, and the shard sliced through the necks of three vampires, fast, fierce, and precise! Blood sprayed out, drenching Emily's body and face, further fueling the excitement within her...
In the ground floor living room, Boris, Benjamin, and Alexander caught a whiff of the increasingly strong scent of blood. Their expressions mirrored each other. Boris wore a smirk of amusement, Benjamin remained concerned, but relieved that the blood wasn't Emily's. Alexander was shocked. The intensity of the smell indicated that more than one vampire had been killed. He couldn't fathom how a seemingly frail human could possess such immense strength to simultaneously deal with so many drugged vampires.
Even a single human under the effects of that drug would be impossible to move for ten people, let alone these ten vampires, who collectively possessed the strength of thousands of men, standing before Emily...
As Emily's scattered consciousness gradually faded, her feeling of weakness subsided. It was replaced by a surge of boiling hot blood coursing through her body. She wore a sinister smile on her face, her gaze locked onto the remaining vampires. The vampires, taken aback by the scene before them, no longer had the vacant look in their eyes. They were now filled with fear, frozen in place, hesitant to approach...
