Fulfill Our Mission

The chrysanthemum incense filled the room with its pleasant fragrance while the gentle breeze stirred under the moonlight. It was already past midnight. Waking up with a splitting headache, the young lad helped herself to sit up. Her eyes wandered around the room, making her confused. She feels like a different person, like something is missing. As she tried to adjust her position, the antique vase beside her fell and was shattered. Someone came from outside, rushing in her direction.

"What happened—" The pretty young man dropped the cupboard in shock. "YOUNG MASTER! YOU'RE FINALLY AWAKE!" She turned in his direction with a confused look.

"Young Master?" She uttered it while pointing to herself. The man nodded happily. She pondered for a moment and felt something was not expected. Realizing that a particular weight had diminished, she examined her chest, and to her surprise, it was gone. She lifted up her sleeping robe to confirm everything. Her eyes grew wide, and she shouted in disbelief at the top of her lungs.

"Young Master, please calm down! You've just awoken from being unconscious. Thus, you still need to rest. I'll fetch His Lordship and tell—"

"T-there's no need to rush. I'll go by myself tomorrow morning." She instructed the man to get her a new cup of tea and leave her alone. After regaining strength, she left the bed and wandered around the house. A pile of books was lying neatly on the study table, and atop it was a book tied with blue lace. She saw some characters on the cover written in bold. It states Xin Hyunhei's Diary. She untied it and turned to the first page. It is really a diary.

The man returned with the tea and placed it beside the bed. Without hesitation, he left and closed the door. She quickly left the diary and walked towards the bedroom. As she poured herself a cup of tea, she gathered her thoughts about her situation.

"I remembered that I died moments ago, and then some strange things happened after another. Here I am, alive and enjoying the tea I don't know." She suddenly remembered the name she saw in the book. Xin Hyunhei.

"Ah! This feels familiar. I think I was transmigrated to an old era, living the life of another person, the life of Xin Hyunhei. So, it is my new identity. And I'm a man now. How surprising." While talking to himself, he finished another cup of tea and went back to bed. Still thinking about the event, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

He noticed the change in his surroundings; he returned to the familiar scene after his death. After some time, a beautiful young man appeared in front of him, gently floating in the air. He was tall and had stunning beauty. His golden eyes glow, revealing his long eyelashes. His long silver hair shimmers under the bright blue moonlight. He is wearing a white robe made of refined linen, which makes him look like a fine man. He was astonished by his divine beauty. The young man approached him.

"It's my pleasure to meet you, Nianzhen."

"Who are you? How did you know my name?" He told the young man and gave him a confused look.

"You and I are one." The young man pointed beside him. He saw their reflection. They are precisely the same. "You were provided with this life to fulfill your mission," the young man continued. "I know your confusion. Let me help you with that." After saying these, the young man turned into a wisp of light and entered him. A series of memories flashed in his mind. Some things became clear. After a moment, the voice returned and repeated the exact words: "They abused my kindness... Let them pay!" The young man appeared again but gloomily and conveyed barely understood words.

"Find your purpose, fulfill our mission…."
