A Sack

The class was noisy because no lecturer was in it. Zoey hated the noise , she wasn't able to concentrate on the novel she was reading so she picked her stuffs and walked out of the class.

Zoey wanted to get some fresh air so she walked to the trees and sat under them.

"Here's better, no one will disturb me." Zoey mused.

"Hi." Zoey recognize the voice, she raised her head up to see who it was.

"Hey Lina." She smiled.

"Hey, what's up?" Lina said as she sat down next to Zoey. "You're reading huh?"

"Yea.." Zoey faked a smile. She wasn't happy because she knew Lina was there to cause some distractions.

"What's the name of this book?"

"You mean the novel?"

Lina nodded

" Unexpected Joy at Dawn."

" Wow, I've heard alot of people talking about this novel. What is it about this novel?"

" I also don't know, that's why I'm reading it." She shrugged

Zoey's attention went back to her novel. "But is it interesting?"

There she goes again, with another question. Zoey said to herself. " I can't even read again." She mused.

"Yes, it's interesting." Zoey replied. She kept on reading.

"Okay. I'll try and read it, though I don't like reading novels that much. But since you said it's interesting, I'll read it."

" Who cares?" Zoey mused again. Lina was now silent and Zoey liked that. She was now able to read her book in peace.

"Sorry to ask," Lina broke the silence.

"Oh God." Zoey said to herself. She was upset but didn't show it. "Yes?" She looked at Lina.

"What did you do to my brother Chase, that got him chasing after you?"

Zoey closed her novel, she was really ready to leave. She's already tired of Lina. "Lina, I also don't know what I did to him." I replied.

" Chase is such a bully." Lina uttered

" Yes." Zoey said as she stood up. "Urmm.. Lina, I'm having a class now." Zoey lied, forgetting that they were both in this same class.

Lina also stood up. "What .. class?" Lina asked in a confuse tone.

"Urmm..Mrs Bethany asked me to see her. She's going to explain some things to me."

" Okay then.  For me, I'll be going to  class. Bye"

Zoey heaved a deep sigh immediately Lina walked away.

" Such a noise maker." Zoey said. She also walked away.

Dawn P.O.v

I wasn't able to concentrate on my work and duties since morning. I have been thinking of where I dropped the file yesterday. I'm pretty well sure I dropped it inside my cupboard, but it's not there now, neither is it in my desk.

I guess someone must have picked it. Maybe that person wanted me to be in trouble. Then who could that be?. I  was the only left in the office when the lady brought the file, except for the security agents who were busy going around. I hate the situation whereby someone yells and calls me name for a reason. My boss don't seem to get it. He thinks I'm joking, when I'm not.

Oh Lord, I need to get myself out of this mess. Wait, Katy. I guess this is Katy's handwork. She's the only one who dislikes me so much here. She's always putting me into trouble.

Writers P. O. V

Dawn was still lost in thought when Amelia walked to her. "Miss, Del Sol." She placed her hand on Dawn's shoulder and she came back to her senses.

"Come to think of this Amelia, what if it's Katy who is behind everything."

"Why did you say that, Dawn."

" She's the only one here, who I no can do such a thing just to hurt me."

" Wait, what is it with you and this Katy of a girl."

" You won't believe if I tell you this. I've been Katy's number one enemy since at secondary School."

" Wait, what, you guys attended the same school?"

" Yes, and the worst thing was that we were seatmates."

" Wow, and here you are working in the same office. Then why the hatred?"

" Eversince the guy she was having a crush on asked me out to be his girlfriend at the University, she...."

" Wait...."she cut Dawn short. " Did I hear you well, you also attended the same university?"

"Don't be surprised, buh yes, we did attend the same Uni."

" Whoa..then you guys are bond to be with each other then."

" This is not funny, Amelia."

" I'm sorry."she said. " So what did you say to him, yes or no?"

"C'mon you already the know it's no. I already told you, I don't do love right."

Amelia was shocked." Dawn, you were serious about that?"

" Yes, I'm fucking serious."

" Don't tell me she still hates you for that."

" I really don't know. But I can remember back then at the University,  they were organizing an election for who to become president of our faculty. I and Katy were nominated, Everyone thought Katy was going to win but unfortunately, she didn't, I did.

"Wow, now I get it."

"Yes, so that's where the hatred started from."

"So you..."

" Shhh" Dawn cut Amelia short when she saw Jorge Piper coming in " the boss is back."

Dawn quickly stood up and Amelia went back to her desk.

"Well, I see you both are having some fun." He said to Amelia and Dawn. He already saw when the two ladies were talking. " Dawn, I'll be waiting, get me the files." He stated walking to his office.

" Sir, I couldn't find it."

Jorge halted in hearing that, he glanced at Dawn and walked away without saying anything. He pretended as if he didn't hear what she said.

After some minutes, the telephone on Dawn's table rang she already knows who's calling, so she picked.

"Okay sir." She replied in a sad tone. Amelia noticed that, so she decided to ask. "Who was that?"

"The boss, he wants to see me". Zoey stood up and made her way to Jorge's office.

Stacy P. O. V

Today has been the worst day of my life, my boss has been yelling and barking at me for no reason. I wonder what's up with him. I was actually serving meals but he asked me to be his receptionist, which I did but he has been asking me to run errands for him. I'm just 25 years old but I'm already looking old because of him.

"Miss Del Sol," here he comes again.

"Yes" I replied, though I was angry.

"I need you to go and... "

" Excuse me Sir. "I cut him short as I stood up. " I don't get it. Why am I the one running errands for you since morning. What's my Job again? Cos it seems as if you've forgotten that I'm your new receptionist, not a waiter or so.." I was really angry, to the extent of uttering those words.

He didn't even say a word. He only looked at me from head to toes and said "you're fired.". He hissed and walked away. Well I didn't go after him even when my fellow workers asked me too. I was tired of the job. My salary wasn't that much though. I only picked my belongings and got ready to leave. I was about to leave when I remembered something. I was about to leave something huge with that useless man. 'my salary'. That's something I don't joke with. He hasn't even paid me for last month and this month  is ending today. I quickly walked to his office.

"Miss Del Sol, are you here to beg." The old idiot said when he saw me in his office.

" That will never happen. " I replied. "I'm not here to waste your time, so I'll advise you not to waste mine. I'm here for my salary. That of last month and also of this month."

" I don't blame you, you're just shameless."

" Well, you mustn't remind me of that."

His attention went back to his phone. I got angry a snapped my fingers in between his face. "Hey, didn't you hear me?. I said, my salary".

" You have no right to disturb me."

" And you also have no right to keep my salary. Or do you want me to involve the police in this?".

" So shameless

You've said that already."

" Just call your account number, I'll do transfer."

" Why can't you give me cash ."

" Cause I don't have cash. You can leave if you don't accept transfer."

I had no choice but to give Mr Jones my account number. He transferred the money to my account and I received an alert. I quickly brought out my phone to check. The money wasn't complete so I dropped my bag on his desk and he raised his head to look at me. "What now?" He asked.

"The money isn't complete."

" What do you mean?"

" You only transferred $22,which is for last month."

" We're still in this month."

" Mr. Jones, don't tell me you're that old. Please look at the calendar. Today happens to be 30 January. And I'm not the one on duty tommorow."

Mr Jones got angry, I was seriously disturbing him. So he brought out his phone and transferred the rest of the money. I received an alert and I checked to see if the money was complete and yes, it was."

"Can you now leave my office."

" That's exactly what I'm about to do." I picked my bag, looked at him and said "see you never".
