· — Love is breathing,

getting lost in your eyes

then forgetting how to breathe.

"I was going to tell you after we went home," Kira said, his subtle smirk never leaving his plush, pink lips. Makino chuckled as they continued on their track to the bus stand.

Reaching home, they were greeted by their mum, who looked like she was in a hurry, a stethoscope hanging on her neck and her slim body covered with a white doctor's coat.

"Hey babies, sorry, Oka-Chan's in a hurry. I need to go to the hospital as soon as possible. Please take care of yourselves and the house. I might be late coming home at night. Don't stay up too late. Your dinner is in the fridge; take it out and warm it in the oven for one minute," she rambled as she packed her backpack quickly.

"Oka-Chan! Calm down! The world isn't getting destroyed," Makino held his mum by her shoulders, making her stop doing whatever she was doing. She looked up at her tall son and sighed.

"Even though the world's not getting destroyed, my patient's life definitely will. I love you, sweetheart," Their mum said and kissed Makino on his cheek before heading to the front door, wearing her shoes.

"And Kira-Chan, take care of your brother and yourself. You're the most responsible one here. Please take care of your brother. I love you, baby. Bye, kids!" She kissed Kira on the cheek before grabbing her car keys and rushing out of the house, leaving the two boys alone in the decently big house.

"Guess we are alone..." Makino said, sighing.

"Again..." Kira said, unfazed. He and Makino were used to being alone at this point. Having busy doctor parents wasn't that bad. Kira's little big secret remained as it was.

"It's six o'clock right now. You wanna do something?"

"Sleep?"

"You won't be able to sleep at night then,"

"Okay, I'll get myself some caffeine. You want some?" Kira said, walking into the kitchen, his socked feet lazily moving.

"Yeah sure, I guess..." Makino said. He felt fatigued too. stayed up all night waiting for Kira to come back and help him clean up.

"Did you wash your clothes, Kira?" Makino asked, and that reminded Kira that he didn't do it. He didn't want to smell like rotten blood the next time he went for an assassination. His eyes went wide.

"Fuck! I didn't! — Who cares? I'll wash after I have coffee. I'm tired and desperately in need of caffeine to get myself working," Makino facepalmed.

"I wonder how Oka-Chan finds you responsible for real," Makino taunts, and Kira just laughs.

"Just like that, come here. Let's watch something," Kira said, flipping the remote and turning on the TV. The news was on when Makino sat beside Kira with his mug of coffee. They both watching the news intently.

"Successful business person, Matsuzaka Kenshin, was found annihilated in his hotel room in Fujimi. Police and detectives are predicting that he has been annihilated by a professional assassin. The DNA of the corpse of Matsuzaka contains a special poison made traditionally by orleander flowers, which mainly caused his death, according to forensic investigators. The body didn't have many injuries other than just the slit on the throat," The newsreader read the news thoroughly to their viewers.

"Wait, isn't he the one you assassinated last night?" Makino questioned Kira, who was just simply sipping his coffee.

"Yep, the asshole didn't want to die, said he had kids and a wife at home, blah blah blah. I just had to shut him up and–"

"And you did. Wow, impressive..." Makino praised.

"Matsuzaka's bodyguards have claimed to witness the said murderer but they were unable to catch him as they are said to be very swift and proficient in combat, which helped him flee. They said that the murderer was wearing a white dress shirt with black dress pants and a harness fixed to his body. They seemed to be a male assassin. Their face were hidden with a black and white Kitsune mask," The newsreader read further.

"Wow, keen-eyed fuckers," Kira cursed, setting his mug down on the small table in front of him and turning off the TV.

"Oi! Why did you turn it off? I was watching!" Makino whined, snatching the remote from Kira's grasp to turn the TV back on.

"After questioning the bodyguards, the police and detectives have found out that the murderer is an infamous contract assassin, code name: Akuma. The Saitama Police Department is investigating the case for further information about the murderer to bring justi—" Kira turned the TV off again.

"Enough, Makino. Get changed or maybe shower. We'll have dinner in a bit," Kira said, his eyes darkened as he looked down at Makino, who sighed (yet again) and mumbled a little 'okay' before going to his and Kira's shared bedroom to clean up.

Kira sighed. He rubbed the temples of his forehead. He grabbed his backpack, but a book dropped on the ground during the process. He picked it up and smiled unconsciously, a sudden fuzzy feeling creeping up in his chest.

"Ne Kira! Where's my tow... el? Who gave you that?" Makino asked curiously. Kira chuckled.

"The new kid recommended it to me,"

"Which new kid?" Kira looked up at his brother and smiled.

"The kid you saw today while coming home,"

"Yume-Chan?"

"Don't call him that, bitch! That's only for me to call," Kira gave Makino a 'karate chop' on his neck, causing the boy to yelp in surprise.

"Possessive already? You just met him today," Makino said, rubbing his neck.

"I know, he does things to my heart. His eyes and smile make my heart go crazy. I can't help it," Kira smiled toothily, his vampire-like canines coming in display. Makino saw this genuine side of Kira very rarely. It was either a fake face or just to make a good impression in front of new people.

"He was staring at me like a child staring at candies in a candy store when I was reading a book in the library. His hazel eyes had this sublimity," Kira said as he grazed random pages in the book he held while Makino listened intently to him.

"He has this ostentatious aura surrounding him, though he puts no effort into it. It just... happens. He is cute, and he doesn't have to do much about it. I love how innocent and idyllic he is," Kira's head was clouded with Yume's cloying thoughts and features.

"Him sitting with me was making me breathless, though I was the one who started to talk. My body went out of control when we made eye contact for a second. He seemed childishly curious when he asked me about my eyes. He seems so austere despite not being a little bit of it. My heart feels fuzzy when I talk to him. It's so new to me, but I love this feeling," Kira rambled.

"Wow, you're not that phlegmatic person I thought you were," Makino responds, earning another karate chop on his neck and yelping once more.

"Dude, it is just tough for me to show emotions and express my feelings and love. You know that, don't you? Or do you want me to show you?" Kira started with a soft tone, but it became deadly by the end.

"I—No, thank you! I totally appreciate your love style. Now, will you tell me where my towel is? I want to go and shower," Makino did understand how Kira was. They grew up together. He saw Kira's brightest and darkest sides. He knows Kira better than anyone in the household.

"Let me get it for you," Kira said, keeping the book back in his bag and heading upstairs to get his and Makino's towels, Makino close behind.

On the other hand~

Yume hopped into the bathtub, letting his body soak in the warm water mixed with a peach-flavored bath bomb. He took a deep breath and sank deeper, his knees coming out of the tub in the process. He sighed with his mouth underwater, causing some bubbles to pop up on the slight orange-coloured water surface, making the young boy giggle.

Suddenly, the face of his newly made friend flashed in front of his steam-blurred vision. The pink shade on his cheek from the steam of the water became darker. He again sank deeper into the water and screamed underwater. He slapped some water on his face.

Kira's two-coloured eyes, his deep voice, his soft smile, his tall and toned figure, his long black hair and, more dangerous of all, his smirk.

God, that smirk!

Yume's heart did a somersault in his ribcage. He was getting breathless at the thought of the old man. He wanted to drown in the bath water he was in. Thinking about Kira's eyes made him dazed and breathe hard. His inner self was screaming.

Wait—why was his inner self screaming?

"I'm not in love, am I?" He questioned himself.

"Oh hell no! I can't be... Or am I?"

"Yume, are you still in the bathtub?" Yume heard Ryobe yelling, but his body was on auto-pilot.

"Ahh! No, I'm in love!"
