A NOTE

Asher could not see anything because of the bulk of muscles guiding him. It was hard to tell if Sean had gotten closer or if Beau's death stare sent him back.

Asher peeked out from behind Beau.

"Baby, stay back," Beau said, bending to the side so Asher could hear. He knitted his brows when Asher stepped out. "You should stay back. I don't trust—"

"I will be fine. You're here, right?"

Beau took a second. He shrugged, "Well, that's right."

The boys flanking Sean stopped walking. Only Sean moved closer.

"Hi, Beau. Hi, Ash."

"It's Asher to you," Beau corrected.

"I'm sorry." Sean cleared his throat. "Asher, I came here to apologize for my behaviour earlier."

The frown on Beau's face became more pronounced.

Asher tilted his head to the side, visibly confused. "You came here to apologize?"
