The City around the Abandoned Fortress      

[Long ago, the dwarves found themselves tasked with guarding a mysterious and extraordinary prisoner whose safekeeping couldn't be entrusted to an ordinary cell. 

In response, a coalition of these stalwart beings, along with master builders from all races, embarked on a journey to a forsaken land. There, they located the loftiest peak, and atop it, they erected a grand palace with a secure subterranean dungeon.

These chosen builders pledged their very blood to preserve the enigma of this prisoner, vowing to carry the secret to their graves, never even sharing it with their most cherished. 

As time marched on, decades turned into centuries. The stronghold took shape. A magnificent castle emerged, concealing intricate pathways and hidden chambers beneath its regal facade. It came to be known as "The Dwarf Fortress."
