[Isaac's side]
Isaac was hiding behind bushes while the swarm of worms was desperately searching for him.
Waaaagh!!
The worms screamed in frustration.
Isaac peeked through the bushes. 'The worms are spread out nicely. I can use the 'Drunk Fire' skill from my weapon. Luckily, we split up, or else they might get caught up in the blast.' Isaac carefully placed the gun through the bushes. Isaac made sure his feet were firmly on the ground, trying not to make any movements and aimed at the worms. Isaac activated the 'Drunk Fire' and pulled the trigger.
Click.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
Multiple bullets were shot out and killed some of the worms. Some bullets missed their vital organs but were able to incapacitate the worms. The incapacitated worms fell to the ground, and their blood were dripping everywhere on the ground. The worms were squirming while struggling to regenerate their injured body.
Isaac equipped his katana and jumped out from the bushes. He held his katana firmly and killed the remaining worms. Isaac lowered his katana. "That should be all of them." Isaac looked at the dead worms. "Ugh... I feel bad for the worms, but what can I do. If I just leave them be, they'll kill me. Haiz. Life is cruel." Suddenly, a completely uninjured worm stealthily attacked Isaac from behind. It opened its mouth and bore its razor-sharp teeth at Isaac. Unlike normal worm monsters, this worm was bigger and stronger.
Isaac realized in time and turned back. Isaac moved a step back and shoved the katana in between its mouths.
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
Sizzle.
The saliva drips on Isaac's clothes. The clothes melted, and the saliva grazed Isaac's right arm.
"Argh!" Isaac grunted. Isaac quickly fell back. He looked at his burnt arm. "This one also has acid saliva but is less deadly than Looney and Monica Jr's."
The worm screamed and tried to shake off the katana stuck in its mouth.
Isaac equipped his gun with his left hand. He pointed the gun at the worm and said. "Don't sneak up on a person next time." He pulled the trigger.
Bang.
The bullet shot through the worm's head, and the worm fell to the ground.
Isaac bent forward and breathed heavily to catch his breath. "Haaa...Ha... Finally over." He slowly walked towards the dead worm he killed and pulled out his katana. "Thank goodness my katana is still in perfect shape. I thought the acid melted it." Isaac put his weapons away.
Isaac moved his right arm a bit, and he cried. "Ugh...I better get this treated fast." Isaac looked through the inventory, but there was nothing to remove the burn. "Even if I use the Health Potion, the burn effect is still there." Isaac continued further into the forest to find a river to cool his wounds.
Rustle. Rustle.
Isaac had walked for some time, but he could not find a river. Neither did he hear the sound of water. "Why is there no river in the forest?" Isaac sighed and decided to stop someplace to rest. As he sat under a tree, he saw a cave nearby. "That could be a nice spot to regroup." He stood up and cautiously walked towards the cave.
He peeked inside to see if there was any wild animal. "There's no animal here, and the cave isn't deep." Isaac continued to inspect the cave. Isaac smiled and said. "Yup. Looks like this cave isn't occupied. We can use this spot to make a plan. I better send the coordinate to Llyne and Rona." Isaac opened the chat group and sent the coordinate. "Now that that's done, I'll just rest and try not to overwork my right arm. Isaac sat down and placed his gun at his side in case any enemies came. 'Luckily, the burn only decreased a bit of my HP.' Isaac sighed.
[Rona's side]
Whoosh!
Rustle. Rustle.
Rona was playing cat and mouse with the worms. Rona laughed. "You can't catch me. You can't catch me. Hahahahaha." The worms were furiously chasing after Rona. Suddenly, a weird sound was heard.
Growl...
Rona paused. "Huh?" She looked around, but there was nothing there.
The worms stopped. They felt Rona wasn't moving, so they bared their teeth and slowly moved toward Rona.
GROWL!
"Ah!" Rona jumped and screamed.
The worms stopped again. The worms looked at each other and slowly backed away. They knew something was not right when they heard that sound.
Rona rubbed her tummy and said. "I was running for so long, I forgot I was hungry! Hahahaha." Rona scratched her head. Then, Rona slowly turned around and licked her lips. "I wonder if worms are tasty." Rona drooled while staring at the worms. As she inched forward, the worms inched backwards.
The worms trembled in fear. They screamed and began running away from Rona.
Rona paused in shock. "My food is running away from me?" Rona smiled creepily. "Well, not for long~," Rona chased after the worms at high speed. Rona quickly caught up to them and reached out to her hands.
The worms screamed.
KAAAHHHHHH!!!
Burp!
Rona rubbed her tummy with a satisfied look. "Never knew worms taste so good~" Rona stood up and patted her clothes filled with blood stains. "Now, what shall I do?"
Ping.
[You got a new message]
Isaac has sent a coordinate.
Rona's eyes sparkled. "Isaac!" Rona jumped into the air with joy. "Let's go meet Lil and Isaac!" Rona hummed while skipping toward her next destination.
[Llyne's side]
Step.
Step.
Step.
I walked around the forest for about an hour. "Oh wow! I saw so many animals I never thought I'll ever get to see. No wonder people love to hike in the past. Awesome!" I leapt in joy.
I continued forward and saw a path covered with leaves. "Oh? I'm feeling a tingling sensation. Must be my gut is telling me I'm almost there." I rushed toward the covered path and lifted the leaves.
Rustle.
"Yohoo~ I'm here!" I shouted in joy. "Hmm?"
I was standing all alone at the edge of a cliff.
"..."
"..."
"I'm really lost this time, huh." I blanked out with my mouth wide open.
"YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!" I screamed out loud.
A strong wind blew, and my hair stabbed my eyes. "Owie!" I teared up and rubbed my eyes. "... Oh! I can't waste my time here. I really need to find Isaac and Rona before they make me into worm snacks for being late. Not that I'm already super late. Gyahh!" I flapped my hands in desperation.
Ping.
Isaac: Where are you, Llyne? Why are you so far from the meeting point?
Llyne: You know where I am?
Rona: Rona, too! Rona, too!
Isaac: Ya. The map displays where each of us is.
I looked closely at the map. 'Now I think I'm getting a hang of reading maps. Oui...'
Llyne: Oh... So those markers are us?
Isaac: Duh. Who else?
Llyne: Oui...I'm so far away from you all.
Isaac: I know, and when I sent you all the map locations, I saw you were the closest. How did you end up there? A cliff, especially?!
Llyne: Hey. Hey. Hey. Chill. Chill. I can't read maps, okay? My sense of direction is coo coo.
Isaac: I keep getting headaches because of you.
Llyne: You sure because of me?
Isaac: I never had one till I met you. SO OF COURSE ITS YOU! NOW COME BACK HERE!
I moved backwards and blinked at the screen.
Blink.
Blink.
"Boy...Is he mad." I quickly closed the chat group. "Now, let's look at the map again." I looked at the map and nodded. "Yup! I still don't understand. But at least I remember my way back."
I walked toward the end of the cliff and took a deep breath of fresh air. "Haaaaa... What a refreshing smell of nature. Everywhere I see are only greeneries and nothing more. What a blessing to my soul. Unfortunately, this might be the first and last time I could enjoy Mother Nature." I pouted. "Oh well, take care all!" I waved the scenery goodbye.
A strong wind blew again.
Whoooshh...
"Hmm? Are you wishing me good luck? Thanks!" I smiled and turned back into the deep forest.
Step.
Step.
Step.
"Whew...I'm almost there." I looked at the countdown floating up in the air.
[Time Left: 02:03:47]
"I only got lost in the forest this big for 3 hours? Doesn't a person normally get lost for days or weeks or forever lost? Wow! I must be amazing." I said proudly. I continued forward and found a small cave. I looked at the map, and the pointer pointed at the cave. "Is the cave the group up point? I wonder how Isaac found it." I pondered for a while. "Ermm... No use pondering. If I use more of my brain power, I'll only get hungry." I walked into the cave happily. When suddenly, a gun was pointed at me point blank.
