Chapter 5:My room mate

Rose woke up early the next morning because of a noise outside. She got out of bed, went to the bathroom, had her bath, packed her hair into a bun, and wore a black crop top with a jacket and a short skirt before stepping out.

Outside, she saw some students walking past and asked one of them what was happening.

"We're going to the school garden," one replied. "They're doing some exciting magic tricks there, and anyone who wants to learn can come."

Rose wasn't in the mood for magic tricks, but she was curious about the garden. During her tour, the attendant hadn't shown it to her. So, she followed the group.

The garden was stunning. It was filled with different kinds of flowers—roses, lilies, sunflowers, and more. As she admired the beauty, she spotted the same girl from yesterday—the one who gave her a mean look. The girl walked up to Rose, poured water on her, and smirked.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry," she said mockingly. "But you should've seen me coming." Then she turned and walked away.

Rose, holding a chocolate drink, calmly stared at her, then poured it right back on the girl's head.

"I'm sorry, my bad. I didn't see you there," Rose replied coolly.

"You bitch!" the girl shouted, but before things could escalate, a few teachers appeared and took her away.

Everyone stared at Rose with wide eyes. She ignored them and continued admiring the flowers. Soon, a girl approached her, extended a hand, and smiled.

"Hi, my name is Rachel."

Rose shook her hand. "Hi, I'm Rose."

"Nice to meet you," Rachel said. "Wow, you poured chocolate on Elena's face? That girl deserved it. She's such a bully."

"So her name is Elena," Rose murmured. "I just got here. I don't even know her. I wonder why she's so mean to me—but I don't care."

Rachel leaned in. "She's acting that way because you're staying in Skyler's room. Everyone here knows she's crushing on him."

Rose blinked, too shocked to speak.

Rachel continued, "She's jealous, obviously. Anyway, school officially starts on Monday next week. What year are you in?"

"Junior year," Rose replied. "Last year in juniors."

Rachel's tone changed. "Oh... So you're just a junior. Just so you know, I'm in second-year senior level, and I hate talking to juniors."

Rose froze for a second, realizing Rachel might have been part of Elena's crew all along, just trying to get information. Still, she enjoyed the flowers' company more than the people.

"I'll get going," Rachel said casually.

"Okay," Rose replied.

After a while, Rose returned to her dorm to rest. Unbeknownst to her, eyes were still watching her every move.

That night, she woke up to the sound of her door creaking: Creak… creak… creak…

She quickly reached for the nearest sharp object—only to see it was...
