Chapter 3: The Second Half of Training!

The sight of Chiaotzu's small figure floating in the sky was visible by anyone looking up into the sky. If anyone looked at him up close, they would be ghastly frightened and worried! There was blood all over his face that was leaking down onto his body and dripping to the ground, forming a small puddle of his blood below. But that wasn't the scariest thing about it. It was the fact that he had an innocent excited smile on his face as he moved his hands in a circular motion! The loss of blood did not concern him at all when a normal person would be in extensive care from losing this amount of blood!

His hands were stretched out towards something in the distance that cast a large shadow over him. There were moments when the moon's rays landed on his body, and was then covered again. The moon shined down in a beautiful, radiant light as three humongous rock mounds were floating in a rhythmic dance, seemingly chasing after each other like innocent children playing tag. They were a far, far distance away from Chiaotzu, but his eyes could still see them and thus control them.

Their height in the air began to descend before crashing down below and turning into piles of rubble. Chiaotzu slowly floated down from the sky and almost landed on his blood puddle.

"Ew!" He cried out before floating out of the way and landing on the wastelands.

Seeing all the holes in the ground made Chiaotzu think that after his training, he could do a bit of cleaning up for all the mess he made. The wasteland was filled with large holes in the ground due to Chiaotzu's training. But he could save that for later. Right now, it's time to work on the other parts of his psychic ability.

His former teacher, Master Shen, always talked about how skill and control were important when training one's ability. Brute force could only take you so far, but it still shouldn't be neglected to improve one's full strength. Chiaotzu planned on improving his skill and control with his telekinesis. These past six months of training have opened his eyes to the fact that he still had weaknesses with his psychic power. He still couldn't use his telekinesis without pointing at his target with his hands. He had to look at what he wanted to use his power on, and if something was too fast for him to see, he couldn't dare to try and use his telekinesis on it.

Chiaotzu had six months to plan for the next phase of his training, and he already knew what to do. He finally left the wastelands and flew over to the desert nearby. His face brightened as he looked at the millions, if not trillions, of grains of sand. Over the past few months, Chiaotzu has gained an unhealthy addition to training and seeing himself improve. With this much sand, he's sure that even if he doesn't reach his limit in 6 months when the dragon balls reactivate, he could use this as a training place again in the future!

Chiaotzu flew down to the desert below. Finding himself food in this place would be harder than in the wastelands. He couldn't see any signs of animals anywhere. He hoped that he wouldn't have to fly out to a city to get some food instead. It would cut into his training time! He doesn't plan on taking a break from his training until he makes his second wish with the dragon balls. Then he'll meet up with Tien and the others eventually before starting his training again. Master Shen has always said that some rest is needed for the body to fully develop. Chiaotzu didn't want to only train and neglect his friends.

Stepping on the soft sand, Chiaotzu used his psychic power to grab a single grain of sand and lifted it in front of his eyes. He then extended his range out over the sandy ocean and grabbed even more individual pieces of sand. The numbers started out at the dozens before probably hundreds and thousands of grains floated around him. Chiaotzu closed his eyes and tried to feel the sand with his psychic power.

The sound of sand falling all around him showed him the results of closing his eyes.

"Awh man..." Not even a single piece of sand remained floating after he closed his eyes.

Chiaotzu balled his fist. He wasn't going to give up so soon! He was just trying to see if he could skip to the hardest task first. By doing what he just did, he just tried to skip past the two weaknesses of his telekinesis. That's why he wasn't completely upset about his failure. Now he'll just start from the beginning and work slowly. Like a proper martial artist should.

Chiaotzu stared at the sand below his feet. His hands were at his waist as he tried using his psychic energy to raise the sand into the air. The sand he was looking at was completely stationary, but the sand under his feet was rising.

'What the?!' Chiaotzu fell onto the sandy ground.

He stopped using his power and understood what had happened. To fix that, he held his hands up in the air and then tried to lift the sand. This way, he wouldn't accidentally lift anything he wasn't trying to. Now he could fully focus on trying to use his power without pointing at them with his hands. This was one of the reasons why he lost to Krillin at the 22nd Martial Arts World Tournament. He got distracted, and Krillin took advantage of that. He'll also need to ask Tien to teach him math after he makes his wish.

Sometime later, while he was training, Chiaotzu was visited by a group of people. He saw them riding through the desert on their flying motorcycles but didn't plan to get involved with them. He was too busy trying to use his psychic power as a way to sense his surroundings without relying on his eyes. It was a work in progress that took all of Chiaotzu's concentration. He couldn't spare any attention to anything that wasn't controlling his psychic energy, or he would lose focus and fail once again. He shut off all his senses and tried to sense using only his telekinetic ability.

"Oh, what the hell is this thing?" Mikey asked, the leader of the Sandy Bandits.

"It looks like a kid..." Buiyan said, slightly freaked out by the appearance of it.

"No way, man, it looks like a haunted doll. Is this desert cursed?" Chauda whimpered, frightened by the possible supernatural specter.

"Whatever the hell it is, let's see if it has any cash on it," Mikey suggested, poking it with his sword.

Blood dripped from the areas where the bandit leader poked. The Sandy Bandits all watched as the wounds closed up within seconds, but the strange being still did not move an inch from its position.

"If it bleeds, it has to be human!" Mikey cheered. He was secretly nervous about this being some haunted ghost just as much as his men were.

"Chop the damn things head off. It's seriously creepy as hell." Buiyan said.

"Put it out of its misery. Living while looking like that has to be hell." Chauda said, feeling pity for the white creature.

"Heh. Let's hope it has some cash on it after we kill it! After this, we can go to that bar in Gormak village!" His brothers cheered as he swung his mighty blade toward the neck of Chiaotzu.

"Ding!" The blade cried out.

The blade shattered as it made contact with Chiaotzu's neck. A faint blue aura appeared around Chiaotzu's body. It was barely visible but was present all over his body. The bandits were speechless as they saw the steel break against the weird thing's neck.

"Should I try and shoot it?" Buiyan asked while aiming his shotgun at the thing.

"Go ahead. If that don't work, I could try blowing it up with my dynamite." Chauda said.

Buiyan blasted his shotgun toward the brain of Chiaotzu, and they all watched as the bullets suddenly stopped, just as they were about to make contact with Chiaotzu's body. They then dropped into the sand below, and the faint blue aura grew outward from Chiatozu's body. The bandits were even more shocked after seeing that. They would've completely given up on killing and robbing this thing if they didn't believe that it could survive against dynamite. There was only one way to prove if this was really unkillable.

Chauda lighted the dynamite fuse and tossed it right at Chiaotzu's head. The bandits quickly fled on their motorcycles and waited for the explosion to ring out in their ears. It was too bad that they didn't notice the pile of dynamite flying back at them, covered in a thin blue aura.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

"Hmph! That'll teach you losers! Nananana!" Chiaotzu childishly mocked the bandits as they exploded in the distance.

Thanks to them, he did manage to progress further in his training. His instincts that activated in the face of possible harm activated as soon as the blade was about to decapitate him. It allowed him to sense his surroundings with his psychic power! He cheered happily at the progress he made and quickly tried to do it again. Sadly, he wasn't able to immediately get back into that state, but at least he had a feeling for it now!

The remaining months were spent with little to no change in his routine. Wake up, find breakfast, train, find lunch, train, find dinner, train until exhaustion, and sleep. This is what he did daily for the past 182 days in the desert. Slowly but surely, honing his psychic abilities every day. Making gradual progress as his mind breaks itself and repairs constantly every single day. By the end of his training, Chiaotzu could say that his telekinesis had surpassed anyone on planet Earth! Well, as far as he knows, anyway.
