Rhyland said apologetically to Aubrey once they were in the living room. He had not anticipated Natasha to show up at Aubrey's house and attempt to threaten her. It was a good thing that Aubrey was a mere human and had not caught on to the other using her abilities.


Rhyland knew how hotheaded Natasha could be. Even if she were nobility in the were-community, if she had been caught using her abilities on a human being, the effects could be disastrous. Plus, the fact that Aubrey could get hurt as a result just didn't sit well with Rhyland. Not only was Aubrey the solution to his suffering, Rhyland had to admit that the girl was also growing on him. However, he is sure that this interest is merely platonic born out of the need for her.
