The man squinted at Aubrey. Without a word, he let them into the house which was a cozy old Irish cottage. Wordlessly, the man served them with some tea and cookies.
"Oh thank you." Aubrey said embarrassedly. A few awkward moments passed but the man still did not speak.
It was Rhyland who broke the ice.
"We're sorry for coming by unannounced. We came to look for the jeweler who made this necklace." Rhyland explained to the old man. But the latter just looked at him and remained silent. Beside them, an impatient Dimitri made a move to throttle the man but Rhyland managed to stop him in time.
"Dimi, stand down." Rhyland growled, his hand tightened on the other man's shoulder. He was starting to become adept at using compulsion on his kind. It would be extremely useful for survival should a war break loose. And from the looks of things, it seemed like an inevitable distant future.
