"Wait?! With my father?!" Her father was alive?! It seemed that this day was full of surprises.

"I thought Matthias died in the war." Dimitri piped up, his brows furrowed.

Hughes' expression grew grim. "He nearly died from what the werewolves did to him. But thankfully, before they could draw out his blood completely he had taken a concoction of herbs to fake his own death. Matthias is quite the pharmacist like his father."

The man hesitated, before writing some more.
