Chapter 34: The Truth about Emily

The night has gone by and the next morning arrives. As Emily wakes up she looks around and doesn't see Koga anywhere.

Emily yells out, "Where did he go?!?!"

She immediately starts panicking believing that he left her alone in the village. She quickly gets dressed, pays for the inn, and runs outside. That is when she ended up seeing Koga cooking breakfast.

Koga sees her and waves, "Morning."

Emily started looking embarrassed as she approached Koga, "I thought you left."

Koga kept cooking as he responded to her, "Well I agreed I would stay one full day, so I'll stick around for a couple more hours."

Emily starts blushing a bit and sits down, "Oh... I didn't know you could cook." 

Koga continues to cook. "Yeah well, it's something I learned in my time."

"Well tell me more then." She says enthusiastically as she wants to hear more from Koga.

Koga continued doing what he was doing, "I pass. Just eat your food." He makes a plate and hands it over to her.

Emily eats her food irritated at Koga yet again. She eats for a couple of minutes, and that's when the same group of thugs from yesterday showed up.

One of the thugs had a mohawk and he yelled first, "Hey you two, we're back!"

Koga completely ignores them, while Emily starts getting nervous.

Another thug who had a teardrop tattoo on his face was mean mugging them, "Are you ignoring us?"

These thugs were also carrying dangerous weapons such as axes, bats with nails in them, and a variety of other dangerous melee weapons.

Emily whispers over to Koga, "Are you gonna say anything?"

Koga sighs and looks over towards the thugs with a cold stare, "What do you want?"

The thugs immediately start getting nervous from Koga's intense presence.

Another thug who is bald starts stuttering as he responds back to Koga, "We aren't scared of you, now that we have the boss here." 

That's when the boss of the thugs shows up. This man is a couple of feet taller than the rest of them. He is extremely muscular with scars all over his body and he was also carrying a huge ax.

The Boss Thug starts approaching them, "HAHAHA! I hear you been messing with my boys."

Koga stares at the boss thug with a cold stare as well.

The boss thug, however, was not fazed by Koga in the slightest.

The Boss Thug laughs at Koga, "Interesting, that is quite the fierce stare you have their boy."

Koga thinks to himself, "It looks like it didn't work on him. It seems like l still have a long way to go in the art of intimidation. When I get back I'll talk to Dante about it."

Emily is hiding behind Koga, "Woah he's scary."

Koga responds, "Ignore them, Emily. They're not a threat."

Boss Thug puts on a huge grin, "You got some balls kid to insult me like that." The Boss then begins getting closer.

Koga sighs and stands up facing the thugs. Koga has his hands in his pocket and looks at them with another intense cold stare. "This is your only warning, take one step closer and you die."

Boss Thug laughs again, "HAHAHA! You're a funny guy, right boys."

The other thugs laugh nervously.

Boss Thug looks at Koga and puts out his hand like he wants to shake Koga's hand, "Your sense of humor is top-notch, how about you join our group and become our jester."

Koga continues to stand there without saying a word as he looks at them.

Boss Thug retracts his invitation and hand, he stops laughing, "I take that silence as a no then."

He grabs his ax and prepares to swing. However, at that very moment he took a step forward to begin swinging his ax, he was instantly frozen solid.

Koga still not moving from his spot as the axe came inches from his face, "I told you if you step forward you will die."

All the other thugs were awestruck, but Emily didn't seem surprised. Then the frozen boss started breaking into pieces. The other thugs saw this and ran away.

Emily cheers, "It looks like they ran away."

After all this Koga begins cleaning up the area where they were eating, "Well I'm done eating. I should be going."

Emily looks sad as he announces he is about to leave, "Leaving already..."

Koga responds to her, "I have something very important to do, sorry."

At this moment Emily decides to ask one more question as it seems apparent Koga is about to leave, "Can you at least tell me where you're going?"

Koga thinks about this for a second whether or not to tell her. Ultimately he decides it will be fine considering whoever she is won't interfere with his mission, "I'm heading to a place called Sandy Village." Koga as he said this paid close attention to her to see if any reaction would happen, but she didn't show any reaction to the location.

Emily looks like she is thinking and responds, "Never heard of it."

Koga closed his eyes in slight relief that she wasn't a threat to his mission, "I see, that's not a surprise, it's a very desolate place. Will you be alright now that I'm leaving?"

Emily starts pouting and smiles, "Yeah, I should be fine now. I appreciate you staying with me."

Koga looks at her and gives a very brief smirk, "Yeah no problem, stay out of trouble." Koga then begins leaving.

Emily waves at him goodbye, "You as well, Koga..."

A few hours later some soldiers from the World Military Navy Branch show up talking to a bunch of the residents.

One random navy soldier begins asking a random citizen, "Have you seen this person." He showed the resident a picutre and in reponse the resident pointed toward the only inn in the village.

Four navy soldiers see Emily in front of the inn and gather around her. Emily sat there patiently and then all four navy officials got in a salute position.

All the Navy Soldiers screamed at once, "MAM! WE ARE GLAD YOU'RE SAFE!"

Emily looks exhausted, "Took you guys long enough. Is Lt. Bobby here?"

Lt. Bobby steps up, "YES MAM!"

Emily asks Lt. Bobby, "Did you tell her?"

Lt. Bobby with no hesitation responds, "YES MAM!"

Emily yelled at Lt. Bobby, "WHY DID YOU TELL HER!"

Lt. Bobby again with no hesitation responds, "Because she was asking about you mam."

Emily starts having a headache and begins rubbing her temples, "Dammit now she's going to be mad at me. Alright, how much time do we have left?"

Lt. Bobby once more responds without hesitation, "About 2 more days mam."

Emily sighs and tells the Navy Soldiers, "Okay, let's go."

All of them respond back at once, "YES LT. GENERAL!"

As Emily leaves she thinks to herself "So that's what the Devil's Right Hand is like, I wonder if we will meet again."
