Chapter 35: Madeline Kirin

*Kirin Village Arc Begins*

It's been a few days since Christian and the rest of the group have left Purgatory City. Fortunately, Elsa Gates was able to provide them a state-of-the-art vehicle for their travels. This vehicle is known as a smart car. The car is equipped with multi-terrain tires, stormproof windows, GPS, and many more features. The device also has an A. I system specifically made for Teddy. Teddy named this A.I, Mousey.

They're in the vehicle, Harrison is in the driver's seat but Mousey is doing all the driving. Christian and Eve are both asleep in the back seat while Teddy and Harrison are talking.

Teddy starts off, "So Mr. Harrison where are we headed."

Harrison responds, "We are headed over to see an old friend of mine."

Teddy a bit curious asks, "An old friend? Do you mean back before you met Christain?"

Harrison confirms his question leading Teddy to ask a follow-up question.

"I see, does it have anything to do with MYTH?"

Harrison was extremely surprised although he didn't show it on his face. Instead, he chuckles, "I'm surprised you know about that."

Teddy apologizes, "I'm sorry, Mr. Harrison. I may have peaked into your file in the past through my mother's database."

Harrison then lets out a brief sigh, "That makes sense, so you read the entire thing huh?"

Teddy bows his heads in remorse, "Yes, again I apologize. Back in the day when I would get bored, I would look at my mother's database of people that seemed interesting. You were one of the people, The Wandering Priest. Again I do apologize."

Harrison thinks for a second and then smiles at Teddy, "No worries Teddy. I understand. Besides, it's not like I'm hiding it from anyone. I will be sure to tell you kids, the story one day."

Teddy's eyes lit up, "THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!"

Harrison laughs, "So who are some other people you looked into?"

Teddy thinks about it, "Let me see..."

Teddy with a spark in his eyes starts talking about it, "There are a lot of interesting people I've seen, to be honest, it's hard to list them all. We got Dante Altair: the leader of the rebellion army, oh and don't forget his right-hand man Koga, um the notorious pirate Tyler, the head of the clan of ninjas Dono, the notorious hacker Arch Angel. THAT'S ONLY A HANDFUL OF AMAZING PEOPLE I'VE READ ABOUT!"

Harrison thinks to himself briefly about the usefulness of this information and then responds to Teddy, "All those people are quite impressive as well. Have you heard of the Lightning Goddess?"

Teddy again has a spark in his eyes, "HAVE I! She is known as one of the strongest elemental users in the world and one of the few elementals that can compete with prime elementals. It is said that she is currently the chief of an isolated village. Also now that I think about it she was a former member of MYTH...."

Teddy's eyes open wide, "ARE WE HEADED TO KIRIN VILLAGE!"

Harrison smiles, "That's right."

Christian and Eve wake up due to all of the commotion.

Christian still slightly tired asks, "What the hell is a Kirin Village?"

Teddy responds to Christian in a very excited tone, "You never heard of it? Why am I not surprised."

Eve smiles herself, "I heard of it, isn't it supposed to be an isolated village that has sovereignty from the World Government like Purgatory City."

Teddy responds, "That's right. Purgatory City gained its sovereignty because they realized how valuable my mother was. So they gave her, her own city that allows her intelligence to flourish. However Kirin Village's independence is much more of a secret, so I don't know the inherent reason."

Harrison adds, "Just like how Purgatory City has Elsa Gates, Kirin Village has someone that the World Government wants to keep good relations with."

Harrison then thinks for a second and takes back that sentence, "Well I guess that isn't exactly correct."

Teddy asks curiously, "What do you mean?"

Harrison then responds, "Elsa Gates was universally recognized as an extremely intelligent individual who could be either a great asset to the World Government or a huge enemy. On the World Government's part, it was wise to negotiate friendly terms for a person like your mother."

Teddy then starts rubbing his chin in a very cocky manner, "I see... my mother is quite amazing."

Harrison continues, "I agree. Whereas the person in Kirin Village is not as much of a threat compared to Elsa Gates but she has a connection that Elsa Gates doesn't."

Teddy has another spark in his eyes as his curiosity peaks, "What would that be?"

Harrison answers with a smile, "She is childhood friends with the current General of the Navy."

All the kids were shocked, "WHAT!!!"

Teddy's mind is blown specifically.

"Wait, wait, wait. Then wouldn't someone like that be part of the World Government? Especially considering she was part of MYTH."

Harrison responds, "Let's just say it's not that simple. When we arrive at the village you guys can ask her yourself."

Eve then adds in, "I'm guessing that friend of yours we are going to meet is..."

Harrison smirks, "Yup. Her name is Madeline Kirin, the founder of Kirin Village." 

A few days have passed. There only has been desert everywhere until they finally arrive at a huge canyon. In this canyon there was a village, this village was known as Kirin Village.

Christian was shocked, "Woah is this Kirin Village."

Harrison responds, "Yeah. It's not that big of a village and pretty underdeveloped compared to the rest of civilized society. However, what it lacks in modernity and size, it more than makes up for in civility and generosity.

Eve looks around at the people, "The people here all look pretty happy."

While Teddy looks at the activities the people are doing, "Yeah, and they all are doing pretty basic chores it seems."

Harrison adds another fact for the kids, "Yeah, and another thing about this village, is everyone is an undocumented special."

All three children were very surprised about this news. Eve was the first one to speak up, "So this is like a safe haven for specials basically?"

Harrison shakes his head, "Correct."

Harrison and the children keep on moving until they arrive in the middle of the village at a big house.

Harrison breathes in and yells out, "HEY MADELINE!!!!"

All of a sudden a woman's voice yells back, "WHAT?!?!?" 

A woman steps out immediately commanding everyone's attention with her powerful physique and large stature. She doesn't wear many clothes and has long brown hair, she has a certain ferocity about her while also seemingly having a very energetic personality. 

"OH HEY HARRISON, LONG TIME NO SEE!!!" She walks up to Harrison and starts smacking him on the back as she laughs in joy.

Harrison smiles uncomfortably while he gets smacked on the back, "Ouch. Yeah, it has been a while."

Madeline then invites them all into her home. As they enter the home they look around to see it's a rather simple setup but also notice some weaponry and pictures. They eventually sit down around a small dining table.

Madeline sits down with a bottle of beer, "So what brings you here?"

Harrison grabs Christian and shows him to Madeline, "This kid right here."

Madeline is slightly confused, "Oh. Well let's start with introductions, shall we."

Teddy decides to speak up first, "I'll start mam. My name is Teddy Gates, nice to meet you."

Madeline is impressed by his professionalism, "Ohh... what a gentleman. Wait you said, Gates?"

Teddy blushes a little and responds, "Yes, I'm the son of Elsa Gates."

Madeline laughs while drinking her beer, "Interesting, didn't think that strict crow would let you out of the nest."

Eve steps up, "I'll go next, my name is Eve. Nice to meet you."

Madeline looks at Eve in curiosity, "Hello Eve. You don't got a last name?"

Eve responds, "No, I'm from an orphanage."

Madeline is curious still and Eve continues saying, "Yes Mother Joyce's Orphanage."

Madeline looks over to Harrison and then starts laughing in joy again "Mother Joyce huh, haven't heard that name in a while. How's she doing?"

Eve is surprised Madeline knows her, "She's doing well, how do you know her?"

Madeline is also surprised that Harrison hasn't said anything or Mother Joyce.

Madeline gives Harrison a stern look, but he looks away and pretends like he's whistling. She then sighs, "It's a long story I'll tell you later."

Madeline looks at Christian, "Now you kid, the so-called reason you all are here."

Christian gets up, "*ahem* MY NAME IS CHRISTIAN, AND I'LL BE THE KING OF THIS WORLD!" 

Harrison sighs, "Sorry he's a bit loud."

Madeline starts laughing hysterically, "Quite the personality you have there."

Madeline finally introduces herself, "Well let me introduce myself, My name is Madeline Kirin, I'm the leader and founder of this village and I use to be known as the Lightning Goddess!"
