Chapter forty five

It has been a few days since Caihong met with Yang Ying at the market.

During these days, the lowly rich daughter stayed inside her camp and progressed her life like usual.

In the morning, she went to the kitchen in the main house to get the vegetables and meat for herself, then she took time to ask about the soil.

"I don't know," the maid said.

"Can you help? Or my flowers will die," Caihong said.

"I cannot make a decision. I think you should go tell madam by yourself."

It was like going to see the god of hell; Caihong felt cold when she thought about meeting with her eldest mother, but it was true, no one could decide about the household, only her.

Actually, Caihong knew – even though she went to her eldest mother, her eldest mother would not give permission to get the soil by raising the excuse that it was not an important thing and she didn't want to spend money on it.

It was a frustration for the young lassie. Her flowers waited for the soil for many days. If they didn't get the soil, she was afraid that they would suffer.

From the morning till evening, Caihong sat in her house thinking of a way to help her blossoms. She tried to recall the people in the house who could give her a hand at this moment. Then she was reminded of Lifen; she was the kind one that might be able to help her again after the bunny.

The unpopular daughter of Yang Fu hurriedly went to see her half youngest sister.

"Lifen, do you have soil? I want it for my flowers," Caihong said.

"I don't have." Lifen shook her head. "But I saw a green pot in the park behind the kitchen, it has soil."

"Can I take it?"

"I think you can. I saw it was over there for many days and it seemed no one cared about it. "

Caihong expressed thanks, then hurriedly went to the back of the cooking room. She checked and found a medium size green pot filled with soil.

"It's good," she said and raised the pot. "Ooh, heavy!" She cried.

To get it up, the girl had to sit down and hug it.

As she was walking with the vase over her hands, Xiaojie was standing at the door of the kitchen asking a maid.

"Do you see a green pot that I left here?"

"I have no idea," the maid said.

At that time, Caihong was walking past; in a quick glance, Xiaojie recognized the pot; she yelled, "Stop." Then she quickly ran towards the girl. "It's the pot of eldest madam. Why do you steal it?"

While she was saying this, she used five fingers to grab the container from the embrace of the second young mistress. Because the pot was heavy, suddenly, she lost her catch and dropped it on the ground making a piece break from its lip.

"It…" Xiaojie was panicked to see it; however, she was smart, she quickly yelled at Caihong, "Second miss, you broke it."

Hearing that, the girl popped her eyes, "I didn't."

Still the bad maid claimed it was her mistake.

At once, lady fan and Ehaung were walking in.

"What's the matter?" Ehaung said.

"Eldest miss," Xiaojie said, "I came to find the pot of eldest madam that I had lost for many days. In fact, second miss stole it."

"No, I didn't steal it," Caihong denied.

Though the eldest madam and her daughter didn't believe her.

"Do you dare to steal my thing?" Lady Fan said.

"I didn't, eldest mother," Caihong said.

"Don't call me mother," lady Fan stated with a tense face.

"Not only that," Xiaojie added the oil, "she made it break."

"No, I didn't do it," Caihong said.

"You did it but didn't dare to confess. No shame," Ehaung stated.

"I really did not do it," Caihong said.

At that time, Yang Fu was coming home. He was on the way to his room, then he heard the noise, so he came to check.

"What's the matter?" He said.

Everyone was attendant as the master of the house arrived.

"Father," Ehaung said, "she stole mother's pot."

Yang Fu shrank his eyes, "Steal the pot!"

"Yes master. Eldest madam bought it last week and handed it to me. I kept it in the kitchen but then it was lost. And today eldest madam told me to find it. When I was searching for it, I saw second miss taking it," Xiaojie said.

"I didn't do it." Caihong shook her head.

"Don't argue," Ehaung yelled. "There is a witness and evidence. You are a thief."

"Master, you have to find right and wrong. If you ignore this matter, it will set a bad example to people in the house," lady Fan said.

"Yes, correct. Father, you have to trial this matter," Ehaung said.

Because there were many urges, Yang Fu could not escape and had to question his unpopular daughter formally.

"Why do you steal it?"

"I do not," Caihong said. "I wanted soil for my flowers. I went to ask from Lifen. She said she didn't have any then she told me there was a pot behind the kitchen, so I came to take it."

"Call Lifen," Yang Fu told his maid.

A moment later, Lifen arrived at the scene.

"Lifen, did you tell Caihong to take the pot?" Yang Fu said.

"Yes." Lifen nodded her head. "Second sister came to ask if I had soil. I told her I didn't have any, but I saw a pot in the garden behind the kitchen, it had soil in it, and she might be able to take it because I hadn't seen anyone caring about it."

The statement of the youngest girl made the accusers lock their tongues. Yet lady Fan didn't want to lose.

"I looked for it for a week. How can it stay behind the kitchen?" She said.

At that time, a young female maid ran to report, "It's me who took it to put it in the garden behind the kitchen."

"How can you touch my thing?" Lady Fan said with fierce eyes.

"I didn't know it was eldest madam's. I saw it was left there for a few days, so I…"

"When it was bought from the store, it was empty. How can it fill with the soil?" Ehaung cut in.

"I saw it was empty, I thought of using it to plant something, so I put the soil into it," the maid said.

"Low maid! I will deal with you later." Lady Fan bit her teeth and pointed her tiger look at the female servant who kept her head low and her body was trembling.

"Um." Yang Fu wagged his head. "All of you can go back."

Both Lifen and the maid said "Yes" then retreated from the scene to their places.

"You heard it. Caihong didn't steal it," Yang Fu announced.

"But she broke it," Xiaojie spoke in a lower voice.

"I didn't break it," Caihong denied. "Xiaojie came to take from me."

"I took from you, but you didn't give and you dropped it," Xiaojie stated.

"No, I did not." Caihong shook her head.

"Enough. It's just a pot." Yang Fu said. His face showed he was bored to hear it.

However, Ehaung didn't want Caihong to get off easily. She turned to her mother and made a sign to urge her to find a way to put trouble on the young lassie.

Because lady Fan had one heart with her daughter, she knew her daughter wanted it so she claimed, "But master, this pot I just bought and it was not cheap."

"Then cut her money," Yang Fu said. "Don't make it too far. I have a lot of work. I don't want to hear such a thing."

After speaking, he hurriedly walked his feet off.

The last statement of the master of the house made the three ladies extend their lips. Even though they could make the lassie get half punishment; it was also considered as a victory.

"You hear your father," lady Fan said. "You don't have a salary, so I have to cut your spending for one month."

"One month!" Caihong exclaimed. It was a hard punishment; really hard.

"The pot is expensive. One month is good for you," lady Fan stated, then she called the maid, "Come to clean it."

Before bringing her daughter and the lied maid back into the house, Yang's eldest madam glanced at her half daughter with disgusted eyes and mocked smile.

The court and the plaintiff had gone, so Caihong had to retreat her body.

Along the way to the campus, the young gal dropped her eyes without rising. Her mind was still thinking about the event. She felt it was unfair; but though it was unfair, how could she appeal when there wasn't a justice court?

The lassie thought she was not lucky, and now she brought bad fortune to even her flowers. The flora in the pots waited for the soil for many days; she had thought it would be able to survive, but the hope was ruined.

Caihong felt bad for her garden. She stood and watched them with a sad face.

"Sorry everyone," she whispered, then she walked within desperate steps into home and directed to the bedroom.

As she entered, she was surprised to see Wu's girl was laying on her mattress.

"Hey," she yelled and walked on purpose to pull the invader out.

Nonetheless the elder woman didn't show any wish to oppose. She carried on her laying and raised her right arm saying, "Here."

When seeing that, the younger girl halted her feet and didn't dare even to touch the sleeve of the lady. It was because she was reminded of the words that this elder sis mentioned when she had slept on her bed last time – "You cannot pull me off, but I can drag you to come to sleep with me."

"Why stop?" Lantian said. "You want to drag me away, right? Hurry up. Come to drag me."

However, the girl didn't go near.

"Hah…" Lantian put her arm under her head with a smile. "Sleeping on this mattress is very comfortable," she said.

From the right, Caihong was standing with an unpleasant look. Seeing the private space invaded made her recall the matter that happened at the last moment. The girl felt depressed for herself as she had no ability to fight for her equity or protect her thing even her bed. She tried to endure the pain, but because her heart was hardly broken, her feelings heated up leading to the tears coming out and puddling in her eyes.

The young lassie quickly rotated and walked off the room to hide her cry.

However, Lantian noticed the girl was weeping. Her mind was worried and she hurriedly jumped her back from the bed and went out after the girly.

"Are you fine?"

The gal didn't respond to any word. She organized and cleaned the grinder.

"Your eldest mother was really mean. It can be seen on the land that she created the excuse to make it hard for you."

Hearing this claim, Caihong spun her head.

"As for your father, he is money-face," Lantian added. "However, I admire your eldest mother. She knows your father well. She knows that her husband loves money, so she lied that the pot was expensive; in fact the pot was common. Good trick."

"Did you eavesdrop?" Caihong said.

"I didn't eavesdrop." Lantian walked near. "I came to see you, but by chance I saw it so I stopped and watched it."

Nothing to ask anymore. The younger gal returned to work on her grinder and the table.

"Actually, though they don't give money, you can still get the soil."

The lassie still didn't rotate her face or unlock her lips.

"Not from me but by yourself."

Caihong spun to the female as she heard it.
