CHAPTER 17

Everything went too fast and now Sage sat with her mom in their new apartment. The house awkwardly silent the mother and daughter unpacked there bags in there different room.

The apartment was a two bedroom house, the living room shared the same room as the kitchen but it was pretty descent. Dark grey walls, White; floor, carpet, curtains. The house was full furnished as if all this was planned out.

After arranging everything Sage walked in the small kitchen where her mom was preparing dinner, honestly were they going to enjoy the food?

"Why is this house fully furnished, did you live in this house before?" She took the plates and set the small dining table of two.

Sally looked at the small comfortable house and smiled, "This was my first house that I rented in my collage years," She served soup and nodded for Sage to join her. The mother and daughter sat opposite each other and enjoyed their first meal together. The coziness and warmth that the small house provided was much better than living in luxury.

After dinner, they washed the utensils together making jokes. Maybe this was their right time to bond; they still had a lot to learn about each other.

Sage walked and wiping her wet hands on the kitchen towel observing the small living, there were various pictures of her mom and her friends. It seemed that her collage time was so much fun.

"During my time I had nothing to lose so I lived my life to the fullest." Sally smiled taking the purple framed picture where she was surrounded by her three friends. The picture carried too many sweet memories both good and bad.

She sat and patted next to her, "Come here honey," she had smiled at Sage with the most sincere smile that that she had never expressed before not to even Luke. "I know I can't rewind and bring back those days that we were together but I promise that it's now the two of us." She rubbed Sages hair gently.

"I'm sure you did whatever you did for a reason," Is this the feeling of being loved, Wow the Landon family did the right thing to give back her mom, no offense but it couldn't hurt to be a little selfish.

"What about Nathan and Emily," she couldn't help but ask. They were her family although they were half related they were still siblings.

"I don't want to disrupt their studies, but I'll make sure to talk to them." She assured. "You still have school tomorrow so go to bed early."

"You don't have to worry about me, besides it's still early I still have to arrange some of my staffs." Sage rose up and left to her room just then,

"Thanks Sage for not questioning me," Sage walked back and hugged her mom.

"Mom I told just told you that everything happens with a reason," She pulled out of the hug and looked at her mother's clear eyes, "We indeed have each other, It's there loss to let go of someone as good as you." They laughed. "Also remember me, Emily and Nathan supports you behind the scenes.

They patted ways and everyone walked in their rooms.

In the Landon's mansion…

The Landons sat in the dining room and no one had touched their food. The room was grave silent Luke had locked himself in the room and refused to talk to anyone. Samantha was the only one who enjoyed her meal.

The kids looked at her with disdain but didn't have courage to tell her out. She noticed their glares but cared less there were just parasites that knew nothing but sulk Luke had indeed spoiled this brats.

"Why are you kids not eating," She sneered, "or is the food not to your liking" she asked arrogantly. That stupid woman had really brain washed this brats but everything was going to change as long as she was around."

She took her wine glass and looked at Mary, "What are you waiting for you pathetic maid, does my son pay you to act like a painting!!! Come here and serve me wine!!" Mary hurried and served her wine but tripped and splashed the wine on Samantha's designer dress.

A slap flied across Mary's face leaving marks and blood taste on her mouth but she could do nothing but bow down and apologies.

"Get off me you dog!! She yelled standing up pushing almost making Mary knock down the dining table if not for the three siblings holding the table,

"I'll be in charge of the house now, I want all the pictures of that lowly woman burned," she walked her old figure out of the dining room.
