CHAPTER 39

After the whole day of running they come to stop at a water fall. Sage rushed and jumped in the water without a second thought, it was long since she had a dissent shower.

The boys sat at the big rocks near the small stream, they had to give her privacy and had to guard her at the same time.

"So what's the plan?" Khalil wanted his friend to know everything, her life was a mess and he was part of it too. After he was discharged from the hospital he had planned to mind his own business but after he received a call from Fred that he saw someone like Sage he changed his mind.

"Can't you keep your mouth shut...?" Alan stood "You talk too much,"

"What's your problem man?" all he did was just ask but Alan behaved like a dummy. "All I just did was ask, you have a problem with me,"

"What do I have to do with man who likes sticks," Alan mocked which angered Khalil who stood and directly punched him busting his lip.

"Can you guys just stop it; we don't have the time to fight." Fred tried to separate them.

Alan was strong with a fitted boy, but that didn't intimated Khalil, he being gay didn't make him weak. He was also strong and a fighter.

The two came down and looked only to find Sage missing… her clothes laid down the grass but she was nowhere to be seen.

"This is all your fault," Alan pushed Khalil trying to initiate a fight but Khalil was in no mood and kept walking forward. He had noticed that Alan wanted someone to lose his anger to through a fight; he was no one's punching bag.

Fred walked in the middle to stop if the two tried to fight again that was the last thing he wanted.

BEFORE SAGE WENT MISSING…

She was relaxing near the water bank when she heard voices, her curiosity took over and she followed the voices, but the voices stopped and she was grabbed from behind and thrown in a truck again.

As she was positioning herself she heard the man next to her talking on the phone in a foreign language in which strangely she felt familiar with. The man thanked someone and mentioned a familiar name that's when it hitted her…

One among the three boys was a traitor...

One boy took out three bottles of water and handed the two, after a sip the two passed out then car stopped and one of them hoped in and secretly left, his job there was done.

In the middle of the night Maeve was busy chatting with her mysterious friends when she heard some noises in the main gate, before she never minded but her dad and brother were acting strange lately.

Wearing her pink furry sandals she opened her window curtain no one on the outside would notice her staring because her lights were off.

Men in black came in carrying body like figures and took them on the lower side of the mansion. She sat on her bed planning on how to sneak out because her dad had forbade her not to get out of her room after midnight.

Today she had to know what her dad hid from her, She had receive looks from student at school thinking it was normal and Agatha stopped talking to her completely. They all knew something she did not.

She walked to her closet which she had notice that there was a secret passage and she hadn't found an occasion to use it.

The path led to an empty dark hall, she reached out to her pajamas pocket only to find she had forgotten her phone.

 "Shit" she whispered.

"Did you find the book?" a deep voice asked startling her and she walked back the path and kept calm.

"No," The man with the deep voice cursed and punched the man that had answered.

"Is that what we pay you for, to be lazy," another tall man joined them carrying something in his hand,

"We found something," He pulled something off like a memory card. "The book got lost the same day the bosses' daughter had a party."

They projected the video in the white wall and Maeve saw everything about Agatha sneaking around and stealing her dad's belonging and left to her room before knowing the real truth that brought her there. She had to teach her a lesson for ignoring her.

The next morning she went looking for Agatha but she was neither at school nor at home, she was absent the whole week her parent searched for her everywhere but it was all in vain.
