The Tomb Warrior

(Julian)

He wasn't lying. It was extremely grueling.

Those two weeks, were extremely unpleasant.

Grueling was an understatement.

But it was worth it. Swordsmanship was just one part.

"The Warrior of the Tomb? Didn't expect you to be the type to like fantasy, Julian."

"Ack!"

I slowly turned around. It was Ivy Kae.

Maybe after beating me, she wouldn't resent me as much.

"Oh, right. Heh… fantasy."

"Instead of getting better at combat, you sit in the library, reading fairytales."

I guess not.

I'm reading on this for a reason. A fairytale based in Dinet.

If the Sins aren't a fairytale, what else could be real?

My plan is to recruit the Warrior of the Tomb.

The story goes like this.

There was a fearless warrior who ravaged the lands, killing everyone in sight. He was slain through the combined effort of a neighboring kingdom. To prevent any trouble from happening again, he was sealed, and trapped in a tomb.

A bit dark, for children.

"I'll leave you with your fairytales. Then. I suppose someone like you will never work hard."

Jeez…

She walked off, exiting the library.

(- - -)

Julian rubbed the snow on the ground off, revealing a trap door.

It took him a while to find it. He was going off completely random guesses.

"After a whole week… this has to be it."

Julian was equipped in all white, so as to not draw attention to himself.

He slid the door to the side.

The hole was cylinder-shaped, and made of stone. He slowly climbed down the wooden ladder, descending into the darkness.

"It's surprisingly warm down here."

Julian lit a torch.

The tomb was illuminated. Strange illustrations were carved along the walls.

"What the…"

The illustrations were very… childish in nature.

"Is that… Stein?!"

There was a drawing of a pale man with dark black hair, wielding a scythe. He looked stupid.

"I must be going crazy. I have to look for the actual coffin."

Julian turned his attention.

"How did I not… see that?"

There was a coffin. It was floating, emitting crimson-colored mana.

"Why do I feel… connected to… this thing?"

Julian walked closer and closer to the coffin.

Bsh!

The front of the coffin burst open.

Julian just narrowly dodged it.

"I sense the mana of my master…"

He placed one foot onto the ground.

It was a heavily bandaged man. From head to toe. The only thing uncovered were his eyes and mouth.

"Eh? You are not my master, yet I sense his mana from you…"

— Stein… what the hell do you do around the world?!

"You're… an imposter! I'll deal with you, quickly."

[Cast: Exhale]

A strong gust of energy was sent toward Julian.

It was so strong, it ripped his shirt into pieces. His sword nearly shattered as well.

— What kind of monster am I going against?!

Before he knew it, the warrior was behind him.

[Spirit Cast: Shield]

A shield of mana formed behind Julian, just barely shielding him from the attack.

— I-I guess the subconscious thing helped?!

The shield shattered.

Julian quickly unsheathed his sword, turning around.

Slsh!

He sliced at the warrior.

The warrior stepped back, the blade barely even scraping his bandages.

He spun around, landing a fierce kick across Julian's face.

"Haha! You are no match for Leanore the Undead!" the warrior, or Leanore, laughed out.

Julian wiped the blood off his mouth.

— It hurts… That hurt so bad… I forgot what it's like to fight people from this stupid world.

[Spirit Cast: Fireball]

Julian jumped into the air. He aimed his palm at Leanore, and fired.

Fwsh!

— I'm… getting more accurate!

Claws shot out of Leanores knuckles. He swiped the fireball to the side.

It crashed into the wall.

Leanore took one step, reaching Julian in an instant. He clawed at him.

Finally getting better, Julian blocked the attack.

He pushed Leanore off.

[Spirit Cast: Flame Whip]

Julian spun, gathering momentum.

He struck the side of Leanore's body.

Or at least, he thought.

Leanore disappeared in a flash.

— Where did he-

Clang!

Julian's body moved, instinctively.

He blocked Leanore's strike.

If he hadn't, Leanore's claws would've dug through his neck.

Julian was starting to understand the stakes of this.

— Either I beat him… or.. I convince him.

"… You… insolent fool."

Julian smirked.

"Eh?"

Leanore stepped back.

"You dare to attack me?"

"…"

"The reason I have your master's mana?"

"…"

"That's because… I'm his disciple! I am the Lone Scholar of the God of Death!" Julian yelled out.

— Ack… I keep on doing this nonsense.

"…"

(Author's Note)

Hello everyone! Recently, I feel like I've been focusing to much on other stories around the world. But I haven't been focusing on Julian too much. Especially with his new power up.

So, I'll try that.

Ah, and also, I know I put NoCheats as one of the tags. I wouldn't consider Julian's [Spirit Cast], as a cheat, though?
