The masked man

Scovia trembled, unable to escape the relentless misery that engulfed her.

Ember lounged back in her chair, taking pleasure in Scovia's torment. She felt a sick satisfaction, enjoying every second of her torment. Scovia, on the other hand, was consumed by torment. The intensity of the light overwhelmed her senses, causing sounds to fade away and her vision to blur. It felt as if she were suffocating, desperately gasping for air that wouldn't enter her lungs. Her eyelids grew heavy, and she could feel herself losing consciousness.

Just as Scovia's eyelids began to close,

the door suddenly burst open. "Who's there?" Ember shouted, her confidence wavering. "How dare you barge in here?"
