The party continued, as people mingled and socialized, the clinking of glasses and laughter filling the room with a pleasant hum. Amid the lively atmosphere, a female voice cut through the chatter, calling out confidently from behind, “Ms. Flynn.” Scovia turned to see a poised woman with an air of sophistication
Approaching her.
“Hello, Ms. Flynn. I’m Stephanie, Stephanie Samson,” the woman introduced herself with a warm smile. Scovia’s expression changed slightly upon hearing the familiar last name – Samson.
It sparked a memory from the previous day when her daughter had come home from school with a scraped knee after a playdate with Stephanie’s child. Though she was initially willing to let it pass as a child’s quarrel, as kids being kids, Stephanie’s insult towards Scovia’s daughter had crossed a line, therefore she couldn’t let it slide.
Scovia returned Stephanie’s smile, “Yes, what can I do for you?”
