CHAPTER 13
A DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT
PRINCESS VICTORIA POINT OF VIEW
“ Do not forget to pack a packet of garlic . “
My twin sister Grace says to me with envy written all over her face . Today she is saying something negative about Prince George and his kingdom but not so long ago she wanted to marry Prince George.
“ Do not worry my sister I do not need to pack anything because my prince charming will protect me . Besides the vampire hunter will surely find that vampire before I even get there . “
I respond to my sister who thinks she can just easily get under my skin with the vampire statement. I look at her with a smile on my face and in return I notice a disappointed look on her face . Nothing she says now or tomorrow will change the fact that Prince George and I are getting married. Nothing she says to me will bring me down because I am the future Queen every one will look up to in high regard .
My sister leaves my room and I lay on my bed and day dream about the future ahead of me . I so wish I could fast forward to when Prince George and I are living together as husband and wife .
“ Your highness, your father wishes to see you at the garden . “
One of the royal servants tells me and I rush to the garden where my father awaits me . I find him sitting in a chair where him and my mother used to have long conversations , a lot of laughter and just spend a lot of time together . This is the only area in the garden my father did not let people change or renovate because it is where he spends time if he wants to feel my mother’s presence.
“ Father you wanted to see me . “
I say to my father who wipes his tears upon seeing me . His tears are evidence of how much my mother was loved and is missed every day even after so many years have passed since she left us .
My father offers me my mother’s chair and the moment I sit on it I instantly feel her presence as well as the scent of her favorite flowers being carried by the wind . I miss her so much and I wish she was here to celebrate my wedding with me .
“ My dear I want you to know that your mother and I are very proud of you especially the woman you have grown to be . Your mother has raised you well , you will not disappoint her . You will be a queen who upholds good values and thinks of her people before anything. “
My father says to me while gently holding my hand and reality hits me . I am now going to be someone’s wife , I am no longer just a daughter , a princes or a sister but a Queen who has to lead people . People of the kingdom I am going to lead will look up to me as a leader and protector.
I definitely have to implement everything my parents have taught me so that I do not disappoint them or tarnish their reputation.
“ I will not disappoint you and my mother or the kingdom I will lead as Queen besides my husband. I will be the daughter you will be proud of and a wife Prince George deserves . “
I respond to my father’s beautiful words .
In three hours my family and I ill be heading to Prince George’s kingdom and in thirty nine hours I will be engaged to my prince charming.
I can not wait for the day the whole world will know that I am the woman who will be Prince George’s wife and the future Queen of his kingdom.
Prince George’s Point of View
“ Uncle there is something important I have to tell you . “
I say to my uncle in the study room where it is just me and him without the royal guards. Today is the day I tell him the real reason I can not get married. I can not just stand by and watch injustice. Princess Victoria deserves a far better life than the life I could have given her .
“ Prince George if you are here to convince me to stop the marriage alliance then you are wasting your time because it will still go on . You are marrying Princess Victoria weather you like it or not because this is no longer just about you but about the kingdom you have to lead . I can not be an acting King for long therefore you need to step into your role as king . “
My uncle responds to me in a dictating tone I do not appreciate. This is the lives of two people who will have to spend the rest of their lives together . Princess Victoria and I should not be a sacrifice .
“ I do not mind being king , however I can not accept the marriage alliance you have set up for me . Princess Victoria deserves to be with someone who love and cherish her . “
I respond to my uncle who pours himself a glass of whiskey with ice. He does not offer me a drink which means he is certainly not pleased with me or the decision I want to take .
“ You are going to marry Princess Victoria and you will shower her with all the love she needs ! She will bear you a lot of children who will help secure your lineage and position in the kingdom . I am not asking you but commanding you ! “
My uncle responds to me with so much rage in his tone. He clinches his fist tight after hitting the whiskey glass against the wall .
No matter how angry he is , I can not risk destroying a young lady’s life . Today he has to know the truth about me being the vampire that is troubling the kingdom.
“ There is no better way to say this, I am a vampire and I can not just stand there and watch you destroy a young lady’s life like that . She deserves better .”
I say to my uncle who does not seem surprised or shocked by what I am saying to him . He just calmly sits down .
“ I can not believe that it worked ? All these years I have thought that you did not inherit the gene from your father . Your mother being human did not work .“
My uncle responds to me and my legs just freeze to one place . A thousand questions hit my mind as I get more confused by what I just heard my uncle say . Dies it mean he knew all along what was happening to me ? If he knew everything why did he call a vampire hunter to hunt me ?
