27 Random Act of Kindness 7

He mumbled as he looked around. To avoid appearing nervous before his student, he greeted with a feigned smile.

“Good morning, all.”

“Good morning, Prof. Wood.”

Now, Sidney, who must watch his friend's back, walked up to the lecturer and whispered, “Prof. Wood, I think you should know this. There was an emergency. So, we won't see Jeff for a while.”

Nevertheless, his face beamed at the best news he had heard in recent times and asked, "Did you get across to him?”

“No, Prof. Wood.”

“How did you get the information?”

“His brother, Leon, informed me.”

“Is he in school?”

“Yes, Prof.”

“Thank you for the information.”

The jubilant Professor appreciated, and Sidney returned to his seat. He carried on his lecture with relief and afterward, he sent for Leon.

At the Surgical Center.

Mr. Oscar and Mr. Beam had transferred Prof. George Green to their Research Center, and the medical bills of the patients paid before Dora and her mother-in-law arrived at the Surgical Center with their lunch. Now, Jessica had more trust on Dora's theory and philosophy of charity than the medical theory. She had increased the quantity of the lunch and included toiletries and other daily needs of the patients to her supply.

“Wow, mother. This is so good," Dora commended. She smiled and responded.

“If that will make my husband and grandson get on their feet again. I will do more.”

“Yes, mother. God will do it.”

Now, the shy janitor, joyously walked up to them. She was glad that there were a few hands that day, so, she would be helpful.

“Good day, madams.”

“How are you, young lady?”

“I'm good…”

“Come over here, please.”

Adline called out. She hurried to her and she instructed.

“In addition to the lunch, you will deliver the parcel to the patients. Did you get me?”

“Yes, ma'm.”

“Good. You can start with the first floor.”

The janitor began as Adline instructed. Soon, Jennifer appeared and volunteered to assist.

“Thank you, doctor.”

“It is my pleasure, madams.”

Now, Leon was through with his lectures and had given Prof. Wood hope concerning Jeff's sudden disappearance, and he was calm. Then, he drove straight to the Surgical Center to watch his friend and brother take his nap.

“Good day grandma, good day Mrs. Israel.”

“You are off lectures, Leon.”

“Yes, grandma.”

“Welcome. How was your lecture?” Dora inquired. Likewise, Leon took his seat beside her and responded.

“Lecture was nice.”

“I hope they are not asking too many questions about Jeff.”

“They do, but I made them to understand that there was an emergency, so, they won't see him for a while.”

“That was thoughtful of you.” Madam Jessica, commended.

“Excuse me," He announced and left for Mr. Morris' ward. Afterward, he visited the Chief of the Security's ward before he got to Prof. Green's ward and met an empty bed. Unlike the VIP section where his family members were, Prof. Green's ward was at the general section. He walked out of the ward and looked around, to his displeasure, there was nobody to ask questions. Then, he walked back to his grandmother at the reception with apprehension. Madam Jessica, who noticed it, inquired.

“What is the matter, Leon?”

“Grandma, did any patient die today? I can't find my lecturer in his ward.”

Now, Madam Jessica and Dora, whose minds had wandered through many negative things, breathed freely.

“Your lecturer had been transferred to the Arcadia. You can visit him if you wish to,” she explained. Now, Leon's face brightened instantly, and he took his seat again. Then, Jennifer and the janitors returned from the wards and announced.

“We are through.”

“Thank you, for your assistance.”

Adline appreciate. Then, Jennifer picked her pack and walked to the ward, and Leon walked with her.

“Jennifer, how is work?”

“Work is fine, and your brother is fine too.”

“That is good.”

They got to the ward and Leon walked to Jeff's bed and admired his face.

“Can he hear me?”

“Sure. He could hear, but can't respond.”

“Can I talk to him?”

“Go on,” Jennifer urged. Then, Leon spoke, “Big brother. We miss you. Your friends and lecturers inquired about you today. Get well soon.”

Dr. Jennifer, who was looking at them, was moved to tears, but she concealed it and encouraged him.

“He will be with you soon.”

“Thank you, Jennifer. See you later.”

“All right, Leon.”

Afterward, he walked back to the reception and joined his family.

“Adline, we should be on our way," Dora advised. Then Madam Jessica looked at the table and noticed that some items were remaining and inquired.

“What about those items, Adline.”

“I'm wondered too. It was the same number of packs that we came with yesterday that we brought today.”

Then, the janitor, who was hanging around to assist in tidying up, gave the answer to the puzzle, “Many patients were discharged today, including my brother.”

Dora exchanged glances with her mother-in-law. Then Dora instructed the janitor.

“You can go around and distribute the edibles. Get the Matron for me.”

“Okay, ma'am.”

The janitor executed Dora's instructions and afterward, they donated the toiletries and other daily needs to the hospital through the Matron.

“Let's be on our way," Madam Jessica announced.

(Grrr)

They halted when Leon's phone rang and waited absent-mindedly for him to pick his call, but the caller was the least person they wished to involve in the attack.

At the Industrial Area

Mr. Israel asked the Chairman's Secretary to send a memo on his behalf and declare all positions vacant with a caveat that the retirement gratuity would be paid accordingly. However, any staff who wished to work with the organization could reapply through a dedicated email. If the new applicants excel through the recruitment process, he or she would be deemed a new staff and the remuneration therein would be for a new staff. The offer closed after twenty-four hours.

“Consider it done, boss.”

Daniel confirmed before he left for his office. When the memo got to the staff member's email, the majority of them were happy because they wished to leave but were held back by the retirement gratuity.
