25 Random Act of Kindness 5

At the Morris Ancestral Manor

Mr. Israel and his team returned from work to meet his guests and family members chatting freely in the parlor. Ambassador Grayson was happy that he embarked on that trip. Before then, he had wondered how lonely Mr. Morris would be in the autumn of his life. Now, he knew better.

“Welcome back, Hubby.”

Dora greeted when she walked to the verandah to receive him.

“Thank you, sweetie. How was your day?”

“Good. And your day?”

“Excellent.”

Now, they walked back to the parlor, and they gave him hugs one after the other. Then, he took his seat on one of the couches and inquired, “Where are the boys?”

Now, Ambassador Grayson chuckled and responded.

“They are still at the hospital.”

“Really. I knew they would not wish to leave their friend alone.”

“You're right.”

Afterward, they retired to their suites and waited for dinner. Then, Leon and his siblings were back, and they joyously had their dinner.

“What time is your flight tomorrow?” Mr. Ken Israel inquired. Then, Ambassador Grayson answered.

“8 Am.”

“That is good. Once more, thank you for checking on us.”

“You are welcome. I am glad that we did. We were not comfortable with the news we heard about them. Now that we have seen for ourselves, we have understood better.”

After the dinner, the guests settled in their rooms while the family settled at Jessica Murray's suite.

“I have seen the cost of settling the bills of the patients at the surgical center," Ken announced as he reclined on the couch and watched the reactions of his mother and wife. Then his mother spoke, “When Dora said that if we sow a seed, they would recover fast, I agreed with her. Now I'm convinced that the seed of kindness that we are sowing is working.”

Now, Dora laughed heartily at his mother-in-law's perception of charity. Then, Ken, continued, “You are right, mother, it works. When you bake the peoples’ bread, you will have your cake.”

“I agree with you, son.”

“One more thing,” Ken pointed out, and Jessica and Dora looked at him at once and waited eagerly for whatever he had to say. Then, he continued while focusing his attention on his mother, hoping to get her reaction if she hears the name.

“One of Leon's lecturers, Prof. George Green, is on admission at the Surgical Center and his case is critical.”

“Oh! Was that the reason for Leon's moodiness yesterday?”

Dora asked. You are right. I never knew that you noticed it.”

“I noticed it too. How critical is his condition?” Jessica inquired without sentiment. Ken felt bad because he discovered that she had not completely recovered from the memory loss she suffered as a result of the attack from Mr. George Morris' men. Then he gave her the information that the doctor gave to him about Prof. Green.

“That would not be a problem. I will get the Head of the Research at the Arcadia to check on him.”

“That is nice of you, mother. I'm certain that Leon would be happy to hear that.”

“Thank you, mother. Your presence had brightened our lives.” Dora appreciated.

“You are the best.” Jessica Murray responded.

The next day, Liam Grayson set out to leave for Nigeria with his family. To everyone's surprise, Leon did not insist on accompanying them to the airport, and Ken was pleased with it.

“Safe trip, dad, and mom. Big brothers, I expect to hear from you.”

“It's all right, Leon. Take care of yourself and Jeff.”

“I will.”

Afterward, he bade them farewell and left for his school.

At the Surgical Center.

Mr. Collins Beam, the Head of Research from the Endless Love Arcadia and Oscar arrived at the Surgical Center and requested to see the Medical Director.

“A moment, please.” the receptionist requested as she gave the doctor a call. When he picked, she announced.

“Good morning, Dr. Milestone. Mr. Oscar wishes to see you.”

“It is all right. I will get back to you, shortly.”

When the receptionist cut the call, she looked at the two men and announced.

“Kindly exercise some patience. He is busy currently.”

“There is nothing to worry about. We will wait.”

Mr. Oscar responded cheerfully. Then, they kept themselves busy with their phones while waiting patiently. After thirty minutes, Dr. Milestone was yet to get back to them, but they waited. Meanwhile, he had forgotten about the call from the receptionist. Then, she took the initiative and gave him a call again. When, he saw her call, he recalled that she announced the presence of a visitor.

“Oh! It escaped my memory. Kindly usher him in.”

“It is all right.”

Now, the receptionist looked at the guests and inquired. “Do you know his office?”

“Not at all.”

Mr. Oscar replied. Likewise, the receptionist, who felt that the doctor had kept them waiting for too long, volunteered to walk them to the doctor's office.

“Come with me.”

She requested after she got off her seat.

“All right.”

Then, she walked them to the doctor's door and announced, “You can go in.”

“We appreciate.” Mr. Oscar responded. Nevertheless, they opened the door and got into the office to meet Dr. Milestone, who was apologetic as he explained what had happened.

“I apologize for keeping you waiting, Mr. Oscar. I was actually sorting out some pressing issues.”

“Do not think too much about it.”

“Thanks for your understanding. Kindly take your seats.”

Now, the guests took their seats happily and appreciated. Then, Mr. Oscar, who felt that they had spent much time, went straight to the point.

“Mr. Ken Israel sent us. He requested that we should check on the patient in ward eighty-seven.”

“That is good. We can see him right away," Dr. Milestone, who wished to make up for keeping them waiting, volunteered. He walked them to the ward and watched Mr. Beam moved straight to the patient and examined his hand. Now, Dr. Milestone had never associated them with the Medical Profession. So, he was surprised when he watched Mr. Beam, who he thought could be a relation of the patient who Mr. Israel sent to check on him.
