Mortal, Do You Really Think You Can Rival Gods?

Tony Stark was one of the top scientists on Earth.

He had created an arc reactor in primitive conditions.

He developed powerful wearable suits, which were later upgraded to nanotechnology suits.

Creating a device to identify Skrulls was well within his capabilities.

After Tony Stark finished making the device, he tested it on Pepper and Morgan, sighing in relief when they were not replaced.

He then started checking the other superheroes.

If they could confirm the superheroes' identities, they would stand a better chance against the Skrulls.

However, the results shocked them.

Wasp, Ant-Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain America, and Wanda had all been replaced by Skrulls.

The only ones left unaltered were Tony Stark, Vision, and War Machine.

Even with Pepper, their fighting force was still weak.

Upon realising this, Tony Stark felt a sense of helplessness.

"Tony, are you sure this device is accurate?"

Vision questioned the device, finding the results unbelievable.

"I'm sure there's no problem!"

Tony shook his head, though he found the reality hard to accept.

After learning the results, they quickly contacted Nick Fury.

"Fury, what should we do now?"

Tony told Nick Fury about the superhero replacements, frowning.

"The main issue is we can't reach Thor. We're pretty much on our own here!"

Nick Fury's face was severe. "We need to gather them all in one place and take them down in one strike!"

Only by eliminating this threat could they start searching for the real superheroes.

"Fury, are you joking? How can the three of us handle them?"

Tony Stark laughed bitterly.

They now knew these impostors had the same abilities as the original superheroes.

If they fought them all at once, they'd likely be overwhelmed.

"Don't worry, I've already called Captain Marvel!"

Nick Fury continued, "We need to act together. If they realize we can identify them, they might accelerate their plans, leading to who knows what."

This was their only chance.

The Skrulls didn't know they could be identified, so they still had the upper hand. If they took advantage of this opportunity, it would be easier to deal with them later.

Tony Stark knew this was the only way.

They began planning their strategy.

Tony called and texted Wang Yan but received no response.

Though Tony worried about replacements, he was confident Wang Yan hadn't been replaced. Unfortunately, there was no response from Wang Yan.

They used the government's concern over superhero identities to regroup the heroes and launch a surprise attack.

Tony set up a lot of equipment at the meeting place.

Captain Marvel, aware of the situation, quietly arrived at the battleground.

Winter Soldier, Falcon, Black Widow, and Hawkeye arrived first on the meeting day.

After using the device to confirm they were Skrulls, Tony Stark marvelled at their robust disguises.

He launched an attack before they could react, using his firepower to kill the Winter Soldier, Falcon, and the others.

"First victory!"

Tony Stark felt relieved seeing the results.

They planned to eliminate the impostors individually and then find the real superheroes.

Vision also felt relieved, having taken down four impostors.

"Tony, restore the venue quickly to avoid suspicion!"

Vision reminded.

Tony nodded, quickly restoring everything, and they waited for the rest.

Soon, Spider-Man arrived.

Tony had always kept a close eye on Spider-Man, but he was disappointed to find he had also been replaced.

"Mr. Stark, am I included in this superhero meeting? Does this mean I'm recognized?"

Peter Parker smiled, hopeful for recognition.

If not for the device confirming Peter was a Skrull, Tony would have doubted the results.

"Mr. Stark?"

Peter Parker looked puzzled at Tony's silence.

"Tony, act!"

Vision urged.

Tony quickly reacted, pressing the attack button.

Rat-a-tat-tat!

Machine guns fired.

Peter Parker's senses tingled, and he dodged and twisted, surprised by Tony's attack.

A web shot out, landing on a pillar near Tony. Peter swung towards Tony, seeking answers.

Tony tapped his chest, activating his nano suit, and punched Peter mid-swing.

Caught off guard, Peter was hit, falling into the machine gun fire, severely injured but not fatally.

Thanks to his spider genes, Peter stood up and dodged the gunfire.

Tony stopped shooting, wanting to handle this Skrull personally.

"Why, Mr. Stark? I'm Peter Parker!"

Peter's voice was desperate and sorrowful.

"Peter Parker? Skrull, how long will you keep this act up? Where are the real superheroes?"

Tony's voice was angry, approaching Peter.

Peter froze, then his expression turned sinister, "I didn't expect you to find out. How did you discover it?"

"You almost fooled us!"

Tony said, grabbing Peter's neck.

Though Peter struggled, he was too injured to break free.

"Humans are indeed formidable, but you'll still lose!"

The Skrull, even now, wore a smile.

Tony tightened his grip, intending to crush the Skrull's neck.

At that moment, a powerful presence approached.

Boom!

A massive force exploded, sending Tony and Peter flying.

"Tony!"

Vision thought Tony had everything under control but was surprised by the sudden energy burst.

Vision saw the air crack and mist form, revealing a figure walking through the lightning.

The figure wielded an axe.

"Seems I underestimated you!"

The figure, identical to Thor, stepped out.

But from the tone, this wasn't the honest Thor.

"You superheroes are indeed impressive!"

"But I've learned a lesson from you!"

"In the face of absolute power, all tactics are meaningless!"

Thor's eyes fell on Tony Stark; his Stormbreaker axe raised high.

Lightning crackled around the axe.

Thunder spread in all directions, forming a domain around Thor.

Boom!

As Stormbreaker descended, Vision rushed in.

A punch landed, forcing Thor back a few steps.

Thor swung Stormbreaker, slamming it into the ground.

Boom!

Thunder spread, covering several meters, knocking Vision away.

Looking down, Vision saw even his vibranium body had cracks.

This attack was more potent than anything the honest Thor had done.

"Stubborn, aren't you!"

Thor wielded a Stormbreaker, surrounded by lightning, like a god descending.

"If so, I'll kill you first!"

Thor's gaze locked onto Tony Stark, his eyes complete of killing intent.

Killing these two superheroes would make Earth the Skrulls' playground.

Their planet, destroyed by the Kree, needed a place to rebuild. Earth was perfect.

Thor raised Stormbreaker, aiming for Tony Stark.

Tony's boosters propelled him back, regaining his balance.

The explosion had left him dazed, but he quickly recovered.

Boom.

Thor's attack missed, lightning spreading across the ground.

Tony's feet adapted, absorbing the powerful lightning.
