The Device to Identify Skrulls

Vision, being an evolved artificial intelligence, had a metallic body.

He understood that these beings who could replicate Wanda probably couldn't replicate mechanical life but could copy humans, even their abilities.

Though Vision couldn't fathom how they did it.

He had to be cautious, even if the person before him was just a child.

After thoroughly examining, Vision found nothing wrong, though he doubted his ability to detect it.

"Uncle Vision!"

As Vision hesitated, little Morgan spoke up, puzzled.

"Yes, I'm here to see your father."

Vision smiled.

"My dad is inside!"

Morgan opened the door and went in.

Vision followed and soon saw Tony Stark sitting at his computer.

Tony picked up Morgan and was surprised to see Vision walk in.

"Vision, what brings you here? How's everything with Wanda?"

Tony knew Vision and Wanda were living together, so he asked about them first.

"I have something important to discuss with you."

Hearing Tony's question, Vision remembered the situation, and his expression turned serious.

Seeing Vision's grave expression, Tony became severe, too, sending Morgan out and closing the door.

"What happened, Vision? Did something happen to Wanda?"

Given Vision and Wanda's close relationship, Vision's visit alone signalled trouble.

Vision scrutinised Tony Stark, and his sensors could not determine if someone was who they claimed to be, but behaviour and expressions could.

"Wanda has been captured!"

Vision said, watching Tony's reaction for any signs.

"She has been replaced!"

Vision didn't see any abnormality in Tony, then added.

Tony's face showed disbelief, "Vision, are you joking? It's not April Fools' Day!"

Tony laughed incredulously.

Vision didn't hesitate.

A translucent screen appeared before him, showing the battle with Wanda.

Wanda used Chaos Magic in the scene, but her behaviour and expression were off.

Wanda, though powerful, was usually kind and gentle.

The displayed Wanda seemed entirely different.

Tony began to doubt but found the idea of someone replacing another hard to believe.

"What is going on? Did you upset her?"

Tony frowned.

"Tony, don't you see? She has been replaced, like someone else has become her!"

Vision said seriously.

"Become her? That's impossible, Vision. Unless…"

Tony's firm stance wavered, thinking of something, and his expression turned serious.

"Tony, what is it?"

Vision noticed Tony's change and asked.

With Wanda replaced, Vision felt lost and needed help figuring out what to do.

"I thought of a race that can transform into others. Let me make a call."

Tony said seriously.

As S.W.O.R.D.'s tech advisor, Tony had been to the space base and met the Skrulls, witnessing their transformations.

The Skrulls could mimic any flesh-based life form, though it was unknown whether they could replicate abilities. This Wanda was a Skrull or a similar being.

Tony knew only Nick Fury would have answers.

Soon, Nick Fury's face appeared on the screen.

"Hey, Tony, what's up? I have some tech questions for you!"

Nick Fury was cheerful.

After the last incident, the base had been rebuilt with advanced technology, significantly boosting its capabilities.

"Director, I'm not calling about that."

Tony said seriously.

Seeing Tony's expression, Fury became serious and asked, "What happened, Tony?"

"I want to know, are all Skrulls under your surveillance? Any unauthorized activities?"

Tony asked directly.

Hearing Tony's question, Fury laughed, "Tony, don't joke. They're our allies and wouldn't be on Earth without permission!"

"They don't have the numbers either!"

Fury had worked with the Skrulls for decades, knowing them well.

Tony, not hesitating, sent the recent video to Fury.

Seeing the video, Fury frowned, his smile vanishing.

"Hold on, let me ask someone."

Fury called over a Skrull.

"Explain this. Any unauthorized trips to Earth?"

This Skrull was their leader, Talos. Seeing the video, especially Wanda's use of Chaos Magic, Talos's face turned pale with fear.

"I knew it… He's back…"

Talos collapsed, muttering.

Seeing Talos's reaction, Fury frowned, "Talos, what's going on?"

Vision and Tony watched, puzzled.

After a while, Talos calmed down and said, "You're in trouble. He's targeting Earth."

"Who is he? What's happening?"

Fury asked, even more confused.

Talos sighed, "Remember what I told you recently?"

"About a god targeting Earth?"

Fury recalled Talos's warning, which he had dismissed, thinking the universe had too many planets for Earth to be singled out.

Talos sighed again and explained the Skrull history, including their god, Kl'rt.

"Kl'rt is the Skrull Empire's leader, and we're just a branch. Now he's targeting Earth!"

"He can mimic abilities, something we can't do!"

"You're in big trouble!"

Talos sighed, "Sorry, Fury, we can't help this time!"

"If discovered, our whole branch could be wiped out!"

"This time, we can barely save ourselves!"

They could help Earth with most things, but not this. It risked their entire race.

Fury nodded, "I understand. Hide your people."

Fury knew Talos's situation.

The Kree Empire hunted Talos's branch, leaving few survivors.

Now, against their god, it was too much to ask.

He had to rely on himself.

"You all heard him. What do we do now?"

Fury asked, "And more importantly, who can we trust?"

The Skrulls' strength wasn't their power and ability to disguise themselves.

Anyone around could be a Skrull.

This was the real threat.

Fury knew Earth's situation. Advanced technology might help identify Skrulls.

"Tony, if I give you a Skrull body, can you develop a detection device?"

"Without it, we have no chance!"

Fury placed his hope in Tony, a tech genius.

"I'll do my best, but we must be cautious!"

Fury added, "Don't tell a fourth person!"

Tony, Fury, and Vision nodded, understanding the complexity and potential fallout of informing more people.

They placed their hope in Tony to develop a Skrull detection device.

After receiving a Skrull body from Fury, Tony and Vision began their research, even isolating from Pepper and Morgan.
