Capturing Undead Creatures

Chapter 50: Capturing Undead Creatures

Green spoke solemnly to Zhao Hai, "Young Master, is it safe to keep this thing in the Space? It's poisonous, after all."

Zhao Hai smiled and said, "Don't worry, Grandpa Green. Let's go and get some water. I'll call everyone to drink it. Once we've drunk the water, we won't have to worry about the poison." Zhao Hai led the way towards the spring water, with the alligator skeleton faithfully following him like a loyal dog.

When they arrived at the spring water, they couldn't find anything special about it. It was just ordinary spring water, with no apparent changes. Zhao Hai and the others were puzzled, but Meg went into the room to get some cups. Blockhead and Stonehead had already finished their calligraphy practice and were present as well.

Meg brought several cups, and Zhao Hai took the first sip. He found that the water had no taste, so he put the cup down and walked towards the alligator skeleton outside.

Green, who had just drunk the water, hurriedly stopped Zhao Hai and said, "Young Master, let me do it. You're not in good health right now. If the water is harmful, I can withstand it with my Battle Qi, but it might be harmful to you."

Zhao Hai realized that Green had a point and nodded in agreement. Green stepped forward to the alligator skeleton and took a deep breath. He extended his hand and gently touched the skeleton while Zhao Hai and the others anxiously watched. They held their breaths.

Green was fine, and there was no reaction from the skeleton when he touched it. It seemed that the water indeed had a detoxifying effect.

Green patted the alligator skeleton a few more times, then smiled and said, "It's all right, Young Master. It seems that the water does have an effect."

Zhao Hai nodded and approached the alligator skeleton, patting it affectionately. The skeleton wagged its tail like a puppy that had received a reward from its master, almost hitting a nearby slave.

Zhao Hai couldn't help but pat the skeleton and said, "Don't wag your tail randomly. What if you hit someone? You're an interesting big guy, a unique creature. Let's call you Alien."

He couldn't help but smile. On Earth, he had been a fan of horror movies, especially the "Alien" series. This strange alligator skeleton reminded him of the iconic creature from the films, so he decided to name it Alien.

The big guy seemed to understand Zhao Hai's words and became even happier. However, instead of wagging its tail vigorously, it started to vibrate.

Ignoring it, Zhao Hai patted Alien's head and said, "Go lie down in the back room." He crawled slowly to the room, then turned to Green and said, "Grandpa Green, do you think we can bring Undead Creatures into the Space?"

Green pondered for a moment and replied, "That's actually a good idea, Young Master. However, we can't accommodate so many Undead Creatures in the limited space of the Space."

Zhao Hai furrowed his brows, realizing he had forgotten this aspect. Currently, the Space was only a little over ten mu in size, and most of it was needed for the slaves to live. There was not enough space to accommodate all the Undead Creatures. Moreover, most of them were as large as Alien or even bigger. If they were all brought into the Space, there would be no place to put them.

Zhao Hai had an idea. He remembered the Space prompt he had received earlier: "Alien type object identified. Attention: Not a life form but an object." In other words, Space did not recognize Alien as a living creature. If that was the case, could he put it in the Warehouse? If that was possible, he could bring in more Undead Creatures and even pretend to be a Summoner.

With that thought in mind, Zhao Hai tested his idea. He focused his thoughts and made Alien disappear from the room. Then he immediately went to the Warehouse and touched it with his hand. The Warehouse interface appeared, and Alien had been transformed into a small icon—a threatening alligator skeleton.

Zhao Hai couldn't help but smile. He turned to Green and said, "Grandpa Green, don't worry. We can store these Undead Creatures in the Warehouse without taking up any space."

Green also smiled happily and said, "That's fantastic, Young Master. With these Undead Creatures, your safety will be guaranteed. And once you wear a Mage robe and hat, you can walk around the continent pretending to be a Summoner. People won't suspect it's you, especially since you've drunk the Water of Nothingness."

Zhao Hai nodded and said, "That's a good idea, Grandpa Green. Let's capture some Undead Creatures now. If we capture too many, we can release them in the Black Wasteland. That way, people who come to the Black Wasteland will think the Magic Beasts haven't left, and it will make our place even safer."

When Green heard Zhao Hai's plan, his eyes lit up. They hadn't thought of this before, but it was indeed a good idea. Curiously, he asked, "Young Master, can we bring in some Magic Beasts as well?"

Zhao Hai thought for a moment and shook his head, saying, "No, we can't. Magic Beasts are different from Undead Creatures. Space can determine whether to accept Undead Creatures because they are objects, not living beings. But Magic Beasts are living beings, and Space might not be able to accommodate them."

Green nodded, realizing his greed had gotten the better of him. He knew that it was already amazing that Space could transform Undead Creatures. If it could also transform Magic Beasts, it would be truly extraordinary.

However, Zhao Hai hadn't mentioned one important point. His level was still too low, and he didn't have enough resources. Without clearing the Ranch, he couldn't subdue Magic Beasts. Currently, he could only use the cleared Farm to grow crops.

Zhao Hai looked at Merine and said, "Grandma Merine, please send a message to arrange for the slaves to move to a safer place. We're going to capture some Undead Creatures soon, and I'm afraid they might get hurt."

Merine was about to respond, but before she could, Zhao Hai stopped in his tracks. He had noticed two distinct items—two jars placed under the window of the thatched-roofed hut.

These two jars seemed ordinary. If they were on Earth, most people wouldn't pay attention to them. They might even be discarded as trash. But Zhao Hai could tell that these two jars were different. They were similar to the Yuan tobacco mosaic jars he had seen before because the characters written on them were in Chinese—pesticide and herbicide.

Although Green and the others couldn't read Chinese, Zhao Hai could. He recalled the prompt from Space about extracting poison and strengthening the toxic compounds in Space. He finally understood that these two jars contained toxic compounds—poisonous chemicals.

Indeed, the herbicide and pesticide in Space were poisonous. By increasing their toxicity, the vegetables sprayed with these potions could potentially poison anyone who consumed them.

Zhao Hai wanted to confirm his idea, so he picked up the jar of pesticide and there was no prompt from Space. Instead, the information appeared directly in his mind: "Pesticide, a poisonous chemical compound used to kill harmful insects. The dosage is infinite, and the strength of the toxin can be adjusted."

Zhao Hai understood that the pesticide was no different from what he knew, except that it now had an adjustable toxicity level. He put the pesticide back and picked up the herbicide. It had the same characteristics—adjustable toxicity.

After setting down the herbicide, Zhao Hai was quite satisfied. Everything in Space could be upgraded in various ways as long as his level was high enough. He believed that he could surpass any expert in this world.

Green and the others watched Zhao Hai's actions with confusion, not understanding what he was doing. It was only after Zhao Hai stood up that Merine asked, "Young Master, what are those two jars for?"

Zhao Hai smiled and replied, "Those two jars contain poisonous substances. One is used to kill insects on crops, while the other is used to kill weeds. I increased the toxicity of these potions using the toxins extracted from Alien's body. I just wanted to confirm it."

Merine and the others were stunned. They hadn't expected these two jars to have such uses. Although there were many alchemists and potion masters on the continent, their status was noble, and agriculture was not highly valued. As a result, there were no specific potions for removing weeds or disinfecting crops. Merine and the others were hearing about this for the first time.

Green understood the significance of these two potions immediately and exclaimed, "Fantastic! With these two potions, we won't have to worry about pests on our crops in the future!"
