Strange Actions

Chapter 84: Strange Actions

At midnight, a notification sound echoed in the Space, informing Zhao Hai that the radishes were mature and ready for harvest. However, Zhao Hai decided to wait until dawn before entering the Space. He wanted to see if any radish seeds remained for planting, as he planned to enter the Space early the next morning. Unfortunately, when he checked, the radishes had not formed seeds yet. Zhao Hai felt disappointed.

Muttering to himself, Zhao Hai said, "It seems like I can't keep any for planting. How unfortunate." Just as he finished speaking, the Space prompt sounded again, stating, "Non-edible seed crops require Level 10 to be able to keep for planting as per the Host's request. Please be patient."

Zhao Hai was surprised and delighted by this information. He had assumed that crops like radishes couldn't be kept for planting. But now he knew that at Level 10, he could make such a request. It was fantastic news. This confirmed Zhao Hai's belief that Level 10 was a significant milestone that would unlock many new possibilities.

Feeling uplifted, Zhao Hai harvested the radishes, planted four mu of new ones, and also planted a batch of Oil Fruit trees and corn for the season. He then left the Space.

Green had rested in the manor the previous day but wasn't inclined to rest today. After breakfast, he set out with Alien. Alien had become quite intelligent and could now communicate and follow Zhao Hai's orders without any issues.

Zhao Hai wasn't worried because he had instructed Alien not to go too far. If Green wanted to go far, Alien would prevent him, and they would return to the manor within four hours at most.

Green was not afraid of anything, but he appreciated Zhao Hai's concern and did not oppose his suggestion. Besides, they didn't necessarily need the plants in this forest. Green knew that there were plenty of advanced-level plants in forests like Iron Mountain or other more remote areas. These plants were valuable magic materials, and they could fetch a high price if sold in the cities.

Knowing this, Green didn't have high expectations for the plants they might find in the surrounding mountains. He could only hope to trade their work for money and buy useful magic plants from the mercenaries. Their current task was simply to work and earn money.

As Green and Alien entered the forest, the people monitoring them in the manor noticed their actions. They had seen Alien come out of Stony Mountain but didn't know that there were others inside Alien's body.

Green was aware that they were being monitored, so he remained cautious as they left Stony Mountain. He did notice several people observing them. However, he didn't pay them any attention. He wanted them to see what they were doing but not interfere. Green had a plan.

Under the watchful eyes of the observers, Green and Alien made their way into the forest. Instead of taking the main road, they went directly into the mountains, shocking the monitors. They believed that Zhao Hai, being a Dark Magician, might have discovered them and was planning to take action against them.

These monitors were mostly low-level mercenaries hired by small clans. They were different from the highly trained soldiers of the great clans. They valued their own lives more and would run away at the first sign of danger. Green understood this, so he wasn't worried.

As Green and Alien ventured deeper into the forest, Green carefully observed the plants around them. However, as expected, they didn't come across any of the famous magic plants found on the continent. The forest had been previously explored and exploited, leaving behind only traces of human activity and little of value.

Green sighed and continued walking deeper into the forest, keeping an eye out for any unusual plants. Although Green was a warrior and not an alchemist, he had learned about magic plants from Merine, who was a magician and skilled in alchemy. He knew enough to recognize some magic plants, but he couldn't find any in this forest.

Green felt disappointed but kept searching. Suddenly, he noticed two wild fruit trees in front of him. These trees were common on the continent, but they weren't widely cultivated due to their low yield. They were not considered magic plants and were not consumed by the nobles. Commoners would occasionally pick the fruits if they found them on the mountains.

Green hadn't paid much attention to these fruit trees before, but now they caught his eye. He thought for a moment, took out his greatsword, and cut two branches from the trees. He then stored them in Alien's space.

Green knew that the young fruit of these trees contained good seeds. If he inserted a branch into moist soil, it would germinate and grow into a new tree. Since these trees weren't commonly planted and had little use, Green thought it wouldn't hurt to try. He didn't want to miss any potential opportunities.

After collecting the fruit branches, Green continued his exploration. He noticed that his collection space inside Alien was filling up quickly, so he decided to stop and return. He got back onto Alien's back and started heading back.

The observers, who had been monitoring Green, saw his actions and decided to take action as well. They collected the plants Green had gathered and planned to report their findings to their clans. They also hoped to study these plants and determine their potential uses.

Green didn't concern himself with the observers' reactions. As far as he was concerned, their opinions and responses had nothing to do with him. He hadn't done anything hidden or suspicious. There was no reason to worry.

For Green and the others, the only thing they needed to keep hidden was their identities. As long as their identities remained concealed, they had nothing to fear.

When Green returned to Stony Mountain in the afternoon, Merine prepared a meal for him. Meanwhile, Zhao Hai stored all the plants they had collected in Space, regardless of their quality.

Upon storing the plants, a prompt immediately sounded in Space...
