Chapter 33: Apology 101

VALEN’S POV

I slammed my fist against the surface of my desk in annoyance, rattling the mahogany panels.

"Forgive me, Alpha. I'm incompetent."

I glared down at the man who was now kneeling in front of my desk with his head bowed.

My brows furrowed at his dramatics.

No doubt, he'd thought my sudden display of anger had something to do with him, but, in truth, I'd forgotten he was here.

Francis was one of the managers of the many investment projects I had outside of the pack. When I'd taken over as Alpha, I'd headed most of the projects myself. Not only had it been physically draining, but I simply detested business meetings. Attending several of them every day had put me in a foul mood more often than not.
