Chapter 16: The Caravan

Jacket was not one to complain after the months of travel when an elvish merchant caravan offered to carry Marion and Eris for a time. Most elves were willing to aid a knight of the Court of Pearls when they recognized them, given the rarity of finding them away from the Crownlands. Marion and Eris were helped up into the back of a canvas covered wagon, seated among the crates of delicate silk. The material contained too many gold fibers to be planeshifted safely, too prone to unraveling and even igniting in the process. At least that was what the merchant who owned the wagon explained.

Marion offered a small smile across to Eris, lightly bumping his leg with their foot. "How's this for our journey home? You'll return the king of silk and silver!" they teased gently, the prince shaking his head with a small laugh.
