After finding a baby dragon, Tris is introduced to an Isle full of them. She also discovers that some are actually shifters; humans with the ability to turn into dragons.

Tris grabs the bucket, prepared to clobber the intruder who fell on the floor when the door swung open. It’s a good thing she paused, or she would have wound up knocking Lucas out.


“Lucas!” Nick yells as Dom growls in his head. “What do you think you’re doing?” 


Tris closes the door while Nick lectures the ward. 


“What is wrong with kids today?” Dom grumbles. 


Lucas looks really discouraged. Not only is he getting lectured by the prince, but it’s all taking place in front of Ginger. Tris feels for him, but he almost got himself seriously injured by not doing the right thing and just knocking.


“I heard Ginger’s voice and figured it was okay to come in. I just wanted to check on you two. I was worried when you both stormed out of the meeting,” Lucas explains after Nick finishes yelling at him.
