Chapter 36: A New Generation of Dragons

A few days have passed since Tris had to tell the others about Queen Sandra's nefarious acts back on the mainland. Nick has been in a trance, wandering around trying to come up with a plan. He talks with her, but his mind is elsewhere. Lucas has been doing the same thing. It’s like he’s on a constant loop, walking around the palace mumbling to himself.

King Draco finally woke up the day before. He ordered everyone out of his room and has been locked up with Queen Nora since then. Tris wandered down their hallway the evening before and was happy to hear the Dowager Queen giggling like a schoolgirl. She hadn’t wanted to intrude, so she turned around and went back to her chamber.

Over the last few days, she’s spent a lot of time dwelling on the problem the Kingdom has found itself in. No matter how hard she thinks, there really aren’t any good plans coming to mind. After getting up, Tris decides to take a trip to the shore to try and clear her head.
