I looked over the material Felix had laid out on his desk. It was a lot, and it showed that Felix had already been putting in a lot of thought and effort into finding a way to undo my spell. It was impressive, but it also showed that he was planning to go against my wishes. It might have hurt if I hadn’t already ended up hurting Linc first.


“You’ve got some good ideas, Felix,” I said, knowing he already knew they were good ideas. “I don’t know much about removing spells like this though. Do you think you could give me a run through?”


Felix launched into an explanation, but I wasn’t really paying attention because it quickly became apparent that he wasn’t really going to need my help. I was just going to end up holding Felix back while he cleaned up the mess I’d made.


Just like I’d always been afraid of doing.


“And that’s where you come in, Jessica,” Felix said suddenly.


I was taken aback. Apparently, I would have something to contribute.
