Also, there is more of a stat involved part of the system that has been introduced in the later chapters(63). Experience isn't visibly tracked until this point - up until then it is still gathered and slayers do grow slightly stronger from fights, but there's no way of knowing how much has been gained until the chapter it's introduced.]

Iris raised her eyebrow at the announcer's words. She had been more or less forced to sit with Gray during the fight in his special seating that he had built just for him.

She turned to him, "What is a freelancer specialist?"

Gray flashed her a confident grin. "As I think we've hinted, Axel is not the first freelancer to grace our halls. And I'm sure he won't be the last. Each time they come in with the same attitude and bravado - thinking that they control the narrative since they are 'presumably' stronger. Well, that's not the case as Lucius is about to show you."
