The next day, Azure woke up earlier then he normally did due to his excitement. He then quickly got up from bed and started getting ready to start his day.
After he finished getting ready he went towards his computer and sat down on the chair. 'Ok so first things first, I should first get information on the game before I actually decide on anything and accidentally make a bad decision and regret it later.' He thought to himself as he started searching for helpful information about the game itself.
A few minutes later, Azure managed to find quite a bit of information about Dreamainia and started reading it as carefully as he possibly could so that he won't miss anything important about it and make a mistake and find out that it has more cons than pros. When he finished reading all of the usefull information that he was able to find he started writing down all of the things that he thought would be the most usefull and combined all of the information he gained to try and find out if anything clashed with something else on the list. Luckily for him there was nothing that clashed with the information that he managed to find, but he still double checked a couple of times to check for any mistakes that he might have made. After he finished double checking it enough times for him to be satisfied with the list.
He then went on to check the official website of Dreamainia to check the rules and privacy policy for the game itself and make sure to write the ones that would be hareder for him to remember while trusting himself to remember the rest of the rules.
Only when he finished all of that did he feel like he could actually trust the fact that he actually has a chance of making money from the game instead of just spending money without a thought in the world about it and in the end just make it become a wasted opportunity. He then got up from the chair, got dressed, and left his appartment to catch a train that would get him to his destination, the internet cafe named 'Lux Draco' meaning light dragon in Latin.
when he arrived at his destination he started looking around, since for someone like him, who doesn't have much money and doesn't spend most of his money, this type scenery was new. The cafe was filled to the brim with gaming capsules and gaming computer which looked like they were bought only a few days ago even though it was open for almost a year by now.
He then went to the counter and was immediately greeted by the person working there. "Hello sir and welcome to Lux Draco internet cafe, may I ask if theres something that I can help you with?" The cashier asked Azure. "Yes, I would like to know how much it costs to play Dreamainia here?" Azure asked Expecting it to be quite expensive. "The price for an hour is 10,000 won and don't worry since we keep track of how much time you spend in game and take either more or less money on account of how much time you were playing." The cashier replied. This was good news for Azure as it was less then he thought it would be and it was affordable even for someone like him to play for a couple hours a day if this was the price.
Azure then started thinking about how much time he should play today since it was quite cheap and he could afford to play it a lot more then what he initially thought he would be able to due the price being lower then he expected.
After he finished thinking about it he then came to the conclusion that he should play for around three hours to try and understand how the game works and get used to it so that next time he plays he can already play just as good as the first time he played, well, that would be if he could even play well and if not then he can just practice again next time.
He then turned back to the cashier "Alright then, thank you" he said to the cashier. "Your welcome, oh! and you should probably not do any hunting quests until you reach the second area which is the forest since in the starter area people are always grinding the monsters so its quite annoying to try and get one for yourself." The cashier said. "Oh that's good to know then, and once again, thank you" Azure said as he started walking towards the game capsules.
Azure then looked around, trying to find a game capsule that wasn't in use. After looking around some more he finally found one that wasn't in use. 'I guess that it's quite hard to find a game capsule that isn't in use because of the games popularity.' He thought to himself, He then entered the game capsule, which was surprisingly comfortable to say the truth. The moment he entered the game he was immediately stunned by the intro that the game had, it seems that they even put effort into the intro and not only the game itself. When the intro ended, Azure found himself in a pure white space that looked a bit like a puzzle because of the lines on the walls that reminded him of puzzle pieces.
After looking around the room for a bit, Azure noticed a shiny blue orb on a podium, he then started approaching it and then touched it due to his curiosity getting the best of him. When he touched the orb, a light blue screen popped up, which caught him of guard a bit. 'So this thing is the famous "system" which was one of the reasons the game is so popular....' Azure was quite suprised by it aswell so it made sense to him that it would be one of the reasons that would make Dreamainia so popular, after all, a lot of people like the fantasy genre so it gave a feel of being in a novel or something like that.
"Detected new user, please do choose your username before getting started." The system said, giving a little jumpscare to Azure who didn't expect it to be able to speak. Azure then took a bit of his time to calm down from the jumpscare he has just received. 'A username....' Azure then started thinking about what username he could use which made one pop into his mind almost instantly. "LimeTheFrog" Azure said. "Error username taken please do choose another one." Said the system. '....I guess someone already thought about that one....' Azure then started thinking about names with frog in them since it's hes favourite animal.
After a few more minutes of trying every possible name with the word frog he could think of he decided to give up about having something with frog in his username. 'Ok, now that it's quite obvious that something with frog is going to work then I should just try looking for something else... Oh! something with slime might work, and now that I think about it, the slimes shown in the intro were kind of cute....' Azure then started thinking about usernames with the word slime in them and decided on a name that he thought that no one would use.
"LimeTheSlime" Azure said, he thought that it would fit since he did think that the slimes in the into were cute and he liked the color green, his favourite shade of green was lime so it did fit him quite well in his opinion. "Username registered, LimeTheSlime." Hearing this Azure was immediately pleased with his username and choice of it. "Please do pick your race." Said the system while swapping to a different screen that showed the races that were in the game.
Azure then started scrolling in the interface that was showed to him and started looking for a race with good traits that would help him in the game. After scrolling for a few more minutes Azure managed to find a race that he thought would help him quite a bit and even if it wouldn't, it would still be interesting to use this race since even after looking at the forums earlier he wasn't able to find this race which made it catch his eye.
Race: Luck Spirit
Description: The Luck Spirit race is a unique subrace of the spirit race, this race gives you the luck stat and makes it so that the user is able to add stat points to stats that you normally can't add stat point to. It also gives you more abilities that will be unlocked as you progress more in the game, the abilities of Luck Spirits are unique only to them and some Luck Spirits gain abilities that are stronger then other Luck Spirits abilities. The last thing that it has to offer is that you can unlock different stats with much more ease, even those that are exclusive to other races.
This caught Azures eye which made him think, he can either follow the guide and be like everyone else like he is in real life or be someone different in game and escape the thing called "the norm".
Azure then decided to pick the Luck Spirit race since he wanted it to be different in game, he wanted to be someone else and not just another person who had no importance once or ever, he wanted to be special, even if he couldn't be special in real life, he wanted to be unique in game at the very least.
"User chose Luck Spirit race, please do continue by completing the sheet infront of you." Just as the system stated that, a sheet of paper with questions on it appeared out of nowhere. Azure then started answering the sheet, he then got to a question that made him a bit confused. "Personal information."
1. What is your gender? (you can use any gender you see fit)
2. What is you home address?
3. Are you currently playing from a place that is not your home? (if yes then please do write down the name of the place that you are currently logged in from).
'Doesn't this thing do a body scan when a new user joins? Oh wait there are things like genderfluid and nonbinary aswell so that makes more sense. But still, why do they need to know the other two things?' Azure thought to himself as he then remembered that in the forum it was written that medical help will arrive to your location if a system failure will occur while playing as it might lead to needing to go to a hospital.
Azure was then showed his appearance. He has blue hair which was a bit darker than normal blue and bright yellow eyes that were covered by his fluffy blue hair that was a bit longer then most guys would probably have. 'If I'm correct then I can just skip this part of the character creation and just start the game. Plus I don't think that i'll pay a lot of attention to my apearance in the game, I mean it's not like I do that in real life either.' Azure then pressed the skip character customization since he thought that this part of the game wouldn't help him with anything.
"New user has finished creating his account, please do enjoy the game, user: LimeTheSlime." said the system.
The white space then broke into pieces that made it look like a puzzle that the pieces of it were being taken out of after it was finished. Azure then felt he started falling, but instead of falling he just got teleported to his starting point of the game, AKA the spirit forest.
When Azure opened his eyes, he started to look around and was instantly caught off guard by all of the scenery that he saw around him. The were trees that looked like they continue growing even after hundreds of years, all kinds of flowers with some even being unique only to the game itself, tree houses with bridges connecting the trees so that the ground spirits or just spirits who can't fly just walk on to get where they need to go to, and there where so much more amazing things that he saw even if he just entered the game, he was still amazed by everything that he saw infront of him.
"Isn't this.... A lot better than both the advertisement and the intro?" Azure accidentally spoke out loud, but luckily for him no was in the area, so no one heard him.
'Let's see... The first thing that would help me get used to the mechanics of the game itself and get used to moving around to make my body get used to the moving in the game itself would be the tutorial, which would make that the first thing that I should do, but it was said that in the forum that it would be better to just skip it since it doesn't give you any rewards...' Azure then started contemplating about what he should do, since, it is true that the tutorial would barely give him rewards but it would still help him get used to the game itself.
'Alright, so first things first. Where do I find the tutorial NPC?' Azure then started walking around the place to try and find the tutorial NPC, while doing that he also completed a few other quests that required him to deliver things or help NPC's finding things that they need.
"Congratulations player LimeTheSlime for completing the tutorial, you have gained 200 EXP and 20 bronze coins." The system announced, but this notification was only heard by Azure, since if all the other players would here this, then it would annoy them quite a bit.
"Level up"
"Level up"
"You have now reached level 3." The system announced.
'Wait a minute, that was the tutorial? But if I'm correct then you need to find a certain NPC to start the tutorial itself....'
After thinking about it for a bit more, Azure decided to leave it be and just continue playing for now. He then looked at his status.

'So these are my stats..... Well, according to the guide on the game forum, the best thing to do in the early stages of the game would be to put most of your astat points into strength and vitality, but that might not be that useful since I have the luck stat aswell and it makes it so that I have a higher drop rate and stuff like that.'
Azure then started to wonder what he should do with his stat points, since it might be better to not listen to the guide if his stats are different from other players.
He then distributed his stat points into stats the he thought would be more usefull in the game rather then what others thought, making his stats look like this.
[Username: LimeTheSlime]

'There, that should be better now, although..... It would still be better no matter what I choose really.' Azure said as he started chuckling at what he just thought about.
