We arrive home and I help my mom to her room so she could rest up. As I help her into her bed she thanks me with a small smile one her face. My heart broke seeing her so torn. I wanted her to be okay again but I didn't know how.

"I know you're hurting mom, I wish I could take the pain away and just...see your smile again."

she holds my hand, "I will be okay baby,I just need to process this, I have to get used to life without your dad and I need to learn how to sleep alone in this room."

"Oh mother. This isn't right. Dad didn't deserve this."

"Your father was no saint. He did many things wrong but you're right. He did not deserve to be killed. No one does."

She sighs heavily, "Can you leave me alone dear? I'll take a nap...I need to rest okay?"

"Okay mom."
