The Meeting

It was almost anti-climatic as Reese and the parasite managed to reach an accord within only a few minutes and it was agreed that the parasite wouldn't infect anyone else unless they agreed to become a host, and in exchange, Kurai had to provide it with a bit of extra dark energy each month.

Kurai naturally consulted with Abyss first, since it was the being's energy he had used for the moment until he fully learned to utilize his own.

Abyss was surprisingly calm with the idea, and it was only later that Kurai learned that Abyss would then be able to control the parasite if he needed to.

With that out of the way, and with Taya looking a lot more relieved than she previously had as Kurai explained some of the benefits the parasite offered, the two left shortly after and Kurai was finally able to collapse onto his bed once more before falling fast asleep.

The next morning brought about a hive of activity as everyone rushed to get things ready in the square.
