Escaping Hell

Time was slipping away, and the uncertainty of when their next meal would arrive hung heavy in the air. They couldn't afford to sit idly, praying for a miracle. Determined, the slaves pooled together their meager clothing to craft a makeshift coat for Yohana.

Inside the cold, unforgiving shed, they shivered, their breath visible in the frigid air. Yohana needed to venture out, and facing the biting cold in her tattered dress was not an option. 

If only she had foreseen this captivity in the desolate wilderness, she would have come prepared with a warm coat.

As she wrapped herself in the makeshift coat, her gaze fell upon the bare-chested men in the shed. They sat huddled together, their bodies pressed closely, skin touching skin in a desperate effort to share what little warmth they had.

The unspoken question lingered in Yohana's mind: 'What about you?
