"Oh, dear! This is distressing news. I'll speak with Mother and try to change her decision. I won't be the only one saddened if you're no longer here."

The more Elisa spoke, the more difficult it became to restrain her tears. The thought of being separated from Lady Runa, who had become a vital part of the royal family was agonizing.

"Princess, it's my choice to depart from this palace. Can you please try to understand? I no longer find it bearable here; it feels suffocating. It seems that palace life isn't suited for me.

"Additionally, you're aware that many people in the palace hate me and wish for my disappearance," Lady Runa explained.

Elisa was deeply wounded by those words. She had no idea that Lady Runa had been enduring such misery throughout her time in the palace. Despite being aware of her mother's mistreatment of Lady Runa, Elisa had assumed that Lady Runa could handle the queen's challenges.
