The First Guest

The palace was bustling with busy servants. Everyone appeared so busy with their tasks, constantly running away from one end to another.

One person bumped into Runa, who dropped the pile of fabric he carried with him. She glared at him, looking down from above. "What are you doing?"

The male servant shivered, collapsing to the ground and crawled backward in fear. He jumped to his knees and slammed his forehead to the floor.

"Please forgive me, My Lady. Please have mercy on me. Please spare my life…"

He was almost on the verge of crying. An older maid with squeaky clean bun approached. She gracefully bent down and helped him pick up the fabrics. She herself was carrying a mountain of silverware but carrying them with one hand close to her chest looked easy to do for her.

"Please excuse his clumsiness, My Lady. Evan is rather new here at the palace. Now hurry along, Evan! They must be waiting for you," urged the older maid.
