Bad Things You Did

Tok. Tok.

There was that sudden noise from outside of Yohana's window. It sounded like a blunt object hitting the glass window. She rose to a seat and listened to the sound before approaching the window.

Suspicious, Yohana grabbed a candle holder and lifted it in front of her face in a defensive stance against whatever threat awaited her. Once she opened the window, she saw the person she had never expected.

Ansgar.

"What did you… but you're in prison. How…?"

He took two steps forward, and Yohana quickly extended her hand with the candle holder. She couldn't say anything when Ansgar said, "I'm hurt, Yohana. How much have you changed when we're apart? I thought our love is deeper than external factors. I didn't expect you to waver."

Yohana squinted. It was at this very moment that she realized Ansgar's biggest problem with her. He never hated her, or perhaps, not in the way she thought. Instead, he was delusional.
