Walking Home

Yohana walked in no direction. She had only visited the Meindl manor once, and she didn't remember the way back home from this manor. Moreover, at that time, she was in a carriage, and she didn't pay attention to the road.

She kept on walking until she found the nearest town. Even though she was wearing a sleeping gown, she dared herself to ask for order a coach or carriage that would accept payments at the end of the service.

It was difficult to find one because most of the drivers wanted to be paid upfront. There were cases where the passengers disappeared, leaving an empty seat in the coach or taking the carriage's time when it could be used for someone else.

She entered every coach inn she could see and inquired. The receptionists in the inn always gave her a look because of her unsightly appearance. They must have wondered if Yohana was a noble at all and if she was, why she was wandering around the town only in her nightgown.
