"My Lord, please don't do this to me. Lord Ernest, please return to the banquet hall with me. His Lordship will be furious if I don't bring you back soon."

The servant's voice broke their haze.

The young man let go of Runa and rubbed his brow as if to ward off a headache. "Ugh, she knows how to make me feel bad. Should we go back now?"

"Why should you? It's supposed to be the other way around. Doesn't she feel bad for you? Being confined with the power-hungry lunatics and hypocritical sycophants?"

She grabbed his wrist and dragged him deeper into the heart of the hedge maze. Reversing the situation completely, Runa ran ahead without looking back, not knowing whether the person she forced to come with her was satisfied with her impromptu decision or not.

Once they couldn't hear the servant's voice, Runa decreased her pace until they eventually came to a stop. Both of them were out of breath, but Runa had it worse.
